I can't believe we're halfway through the month. It seems like we were just saying good bye to August!
It's quite cool here this morning and the skies are gray. I actually might have to entertain the idea of ironing some of my long sleeved blouses for work.
It was not a good day at work yesterday. Started off the day with my co worker calling me telling me that she and one of our associates couldn't get into the office. We have an electronic key and the one that we keep by the door to use has been giving us trouble. So off I went to try to rescue them. Unfortunately by the time I got there the maintenance guy was there to tell us that it was a circuit breaker problem and nobody's pass was going to work. So there I was at work 1/2 hour early for no reason. The day went downhill form there. My coworker was having work done in her apartment and she left her husband in charge. Text messages, cell phone arguments and I love her dearly but when she gets riled-she's a very difficult person to deal with. About 1:30 she decided that she had to go home. Wise decision. Shortly after that in an attempt to get court papers out the door the copy machine decided that it wasn't going to feed through the document feeder so everything had to be done page by page. I came home exhausted and tied up in knots. Hoping today that her issues have been resolved, the cranky boss is feeling better and the copy machine guy shows up earlier rather than later. Especially since I have a stack of documents that need to be completed.
I went to the paint store at lunch time yesterday and I can't find a color that I like to go with the comforter. There wasn't a shade of blue that I liked with the comforter. My other coworker suggested I look for a pale yellow which was in mind too so I'm going to try to get there before work and pick up some samples and see if I can find something that I like. Work is stalled on that project last night. We were both tired and although DH did say he would sand the nail holes and take down the ceiling fan it didn't happen. We're both going to be out this evening. I think my time frame for this project isn't happening.
Thankful this morning that DH finally got the OK for a week off in October. DD wanted us to come up one weekend so that can now happen. Thankful for all the good things in my life, big and small.
Better get the show on the road. Hope you all have a great day.
I'm thankful Dad is doing a little better. He is still sleeping most of the time and not able to talk much, but at least his UTI and lungs are doing better. Thankful Cheryl is here to keep Mom company and be at the hospital while I can't, plus to be able to do a few things with her. So thankful I'm off today and tomorrow.
I met Cheryl at SteinMart at 10 AM, and while I had no business spending money, I did find 3 shirts for work that had been marked down and had multiple sale and my birthday discounts, so I got them. We had only 2 hrs. together, then I ran to the Dollar Store, grocery store, had the oil changed, mowed, edged, used the blower, and trimmed a few shrubs until I ran into 2 wasps' nests and am out of spray, so I decided to get in the pool a while for the first time in weeks. It felt really good. It was cloudy this morning, but pretty and warm this afternoon.
Pat got bitten by something a few days ago and isn't feeling well, so he didn't come out today to help do things around here. He probably won't come over to have dinner and watch football tonight either. I'm trying to decide if I'm up to seeing if Cheryl would like to meet and do something. She's staying at Mom's, so we're 22 miles apart.
Rob and Anna will get into town tomorrow for the first time in ages!! We have to get some papers signed and take them to an attorney downtown before the end of the day. I also have an appt. tomorrow morning with another attorney dealing with matters related to my looney ex-SIL. Never a dull moment!
Erin, Joe, and Jackson will be in town this weekend. I have to work Saturday, but everyone is coming to the center where I work to have lunch and have a sort of party for Jackson's 3rd birthday, which is Sunday. Sure wish I had more time with them. Can't give him much for his college fund this year, but will give a little and a neat dinosaur floor puzzle I found on sale. He LOVES dinosaurs and knows a lot about them.
Tomorrow night I get to dance. Hope Pat feels better and is in a better mood. I'll get to dance after work Saturday, but I get there late after being on my feet all day. I'm working on being able to do real push-ups correctly. I am improving. I think maybe my arms are looking a little better. They really need it. I use my weighted hula hoop occasionally, my abs wheel, and some dumb bells, so with dancing and walking at work, I'm getting pretty much exercise in. Weights are a must after menopause!!! Everything gets loose and drops! :-0
