Good Morning,

Patty-hope you will have some time to regroup and relax after all the issues of the past week.

Fall is in the air this morning as it was yesterday. I'm anxious to finish painting and put the room back together but not going to happen. DH ran into a major problem with the moldings. They just don't meet in one corner and there is a huge gap that no amount of wood filler is going to fill in. It seems that there's something with the wall that forms a different angle other than a 90 degree. This is the same wall where he couldn't get the curtain rods up because of something in the wall. He's not sure how to handle the problem. He's going to go to the lumberyard on Tuesday and see if they can suggest something. In the meantime everything has to sit. There is stuff everywhere, the contents of the room in the living room, the moldings in the hallway and the paint and rest of the work stuff in our bedroom. This is the part that drives me crazy when a project now has to sit. If he can't figure it out not sure what I'm now going to do with the molding. It's not like it's a returnable item.

I think I'm going to take a trip to Costco this morning and return a dog bed that DS had bought for Otto for the nights when Otto sleeps in there. They put some kind of cedar in the bed filling and DS didn't realize it until it got home and his truck smelled liked cedar. He hates the smell and hasn't had a chance to return the bed. He said if I returned it I get to keep the money. I may see if they have the new Dan Brown book and reinvest the money! While I'm out I may head to Ikea. They advertised a really nice rattan headboard for $40 that I think would be nice in the new room when it's done. From the picture it looks too big for the room but it's looking into for that price. I'm also in search for a new rug since I had to throw my living room rug out. I was thinking about putting the old bedroom rug in the living room and getting a dark blue for that room. I think it will look nice against the yellow walls and since the bedding is mostly white with dark blue trim it should give a nice contrast.

That should take up the morning. I'll probably come home for some Saturday chores and clean up the bathrooms and change sheets and maybe even treat the kitchen floor to a good washing. The front yard needs some attention too. The bushes needed to be cut and we were supposed to rake and put down peat moss and seed but that hasn't been accomplished as of yet. I am afraid if it doesn't get done we're going to have another dead lawn. So much to do and too little time.

Chicken vegetable, tortellini soup on the menu for this evening. I might even haul out the bread maker for some homemade bread. It should be a nice evening for a fall type of meal. I'd love to get Otto out for a walk in the afternoon sunshine. We'll see how fast the clock spins today.

Hope you all have a spectacular Saturday!

Very quiet here today! I wanted to sleep in but that did not happen. Billy showed up at 8 this morning with the dog in tow. He actually met our electrican this morning to go over the work list that Bill left for the garage. It is then that he asked if the dog could remain with me for the day? I was going to be home so I said yes which lead into can I keep him for the night. I said yes but I have since rethought that and I sent him a text telling him so. I am sure he is not happy about this. I will explain my reasoning later in my post..........Did a little cleaning this morning and enjoyed some scrambled egg whites before heading into the shower. Took Katie to the barn and I ran to the butcher for my chop meat, then the dry cleaners to pick up her show jacket, then over to the bakery to get some fresh bread for dinner. Back home to discover Cole chewed his bed and was covered in green fluff. I took a picture and I will try to attach it for your entertainment. I then got started on making my "pigs in a blanket" as I have now heard they are called, lol. They are simmering away in my crock pot and my house is in a nice order and smells good. My dad is going to be here any minute for dinner and Katie should be home soon too from the barn. She was there all day riding, cleaning and brushing the horse. Too much horse if you ask me but it keeps her busy and she loves it. I should say it keeps her out of trouble too so for that I am thankful. If you saw what walkd around this town some days........and tonight is the carnival which always brings out the worst. She knows she can not go because she needs to be in bed early for an early morning wake up call. Which brings me to why I texted Billy with my change of mind (not that I really should have to explain myself to him) but Katie and I have to up and out the door by 5:45 in the morning to head to the barn. She has to feed Ammy, lunge him, and wrap his legs to get him on the trailer by 7:00am. I just told Billy it is too early for us to get out and done having the dog just adds to the mess. Oh my dad is here so let me run. Hope you all have a wonderful night and I will catch you later.

Hi all - hot and humid here again today - thunderstorms finally came through - they hit about an hour ago, and it seems to be calming down now.
