Quite frankly, the day was quite miserable. Things going wrong and a young associate who needs to listen to the clerical staff. We've been around for a good while and while we may not understand the law we do know how to put documents together...and when they don't listen for the umpteenth time their stuff is going to go out wrong because they just don't listen. The clerical staff can be their best friends or we can be their worst nightmare...he just hasn't learned yet. The day just wore me out.
Otto ended up staying at the vet all day. They called me right after I got back from lunch. They didn't have a problem with Otto staying for the rest of day...after all he is cute and adorable! I went right after work...they presented me with the bill which after I picked my jaw up off the floor...I discovered that my credit card was nowhere in my wallet. The poor girl was watching me pull out library cards, medical cards, gift cards but not the card I needed. Fortunately I had another card in my wallet to use. Seems DH had my credit card. I gave it to him when I thought he was buying something on line...certainly not my intention to have him carry it around in his wallet. Otto has his test plus a full blood work up, plus his vaccinations that have been avoided with everything else going on with him and they charged me for an office visit. I am fortunate that DS is footing the bill by giving me money each month to pay off the balance of the never ending vet bills. Every time he makes a dent we have another huge bill come in. At least he seems to be doing well and that's what's important right now. They fed him at the vet but she warned me that it hadn't sat well with him whether it was stress of being there or because it didn't agree with. She said to only give him 1/2 of his regular meal but DH didn't know that and his food all ready for him and I'll just say I'm glad that there was nothing or no one between him and his food bowl because they wouldn't have stood a chance!
My SIL is finishing up her radiation treatments tomorrow but they gave her all her paperwork today and they have a little ceremony to celebrate finishing the treatments. I think she's actually going to miss going. She's met a lot of nice people and has actually helped some by answering questions about the treatment and those that were terrified of beginning. I really think she would enjoy some volunteer work there and it would be really good for her but without being able to drive and not wanting to take public transportation it doesn't seem possible. The girls have both said that she has seemed like a new person. It's strange how a scary experience can truly change your outlook on things.
DH got about 1/2 the moldings up today. I don't think it's going to be done so I can paint on Saturday. I don't see this project ending before Columbus Day when DH and I have a week's vacation. I so want this over with and stuff put back in place!
My ironing board is standing here from this morning's quick press and I probably should be inspired to do some ironing while it's standing here but just not feeling the inspiration!
That's about it from this neck of the woods. Margie I hope the talk with the painter went well. I would have trouble with that as well but doesn't sound like he's doing a very good job and really should be told that. Karen-good luck with the remainder of the time with the IL's. They do sound like a strange bunch!
Hope everyone has had a good day and enjoying a pleasant evening.
Just knew this would happen but I checked in under the Tuesday post.
Hope all had a good day...
