I guess the thing that amazes me is that I think about fitness constantly. Me too.. always thinking..

Have your ideas on fitness (both physical and mental) changed over the years?Absolutely. I never thought about mental or physical fitness. I was always on the slim side without trying-pretty much could eat anything and everything and never worried about where it would land. With the arrival of children I still walked a lot. We lived in the city and it was just easier to walk than take the car. I walked the kids to and from school most of the time, to the fruit store, library, drug store. You name it and I had access to it by walking.
How about exercise? Exercise is just one of the components of fitness.
Do you think you have to get out there and actually RUN to exercise? No, if it was I would be a lost cause although I absolutely love watching people run and so wish I could!
Do you think walking is a good exercise? Absolutely and still one of my favorite forms of exercise. When I stopped walking and doing a lot more sitting things started expanding!
Just what actually does exercise entail? Exercise is any type of movement whether it's playing in the dirt, going for a walk. How much movement is exercise? Any type of movement is exercise. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking a little farther from your car to your destination is exercise. It's getting that body moving.
How has your idea on exercise changed over the years? Realizing that it's just more than exercise. I've also come to realize how important it is not only to your physical health but your mental health as well.
Do you think you look at the entire concept of fitness and exercise differently than you did when you were younger? Absolutely.
How about nutrition? It's another component of fitness-just really tough to get them all working at the same time!
How have those ideas changed as you age? I think I've removed most processed foods, emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables.
Do you look at that differently than you did when you were younger or not? I think more information on eating healthy has made me more aware.
Great questions Nancy!
