*~* Veterans Day *~*
12
Wed, 11-11-2009 - 5:51am

Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Good morning. This morning

Good Morning,

Thanks to all the veterans, past and present who have and continue to serve our country and allow us the freedom that we have.

A rather gloomy looking morning out there. We had a bit of rain overnight and by stepping outside seems to be a bit cooler than the past few days.

Although courts and probably a lot of law offices being closed our office is open so I will be heading into the office in a few minutes. Can't say that I'm quite ready. My bed was so comfy, it was so dark this morning and I was so sleepy that I finally crawled out of bed quite a bit later than I should have. Still debating the wardrobe this morning. The bottom 1/2 of me is wearing a very dark colored jean but can't quite decide what to wear on the upper half of my body-thus still running around in my oversized tshirt. I'm sure that would be considered unacceptable office wear!

I have all my ingredients chopped and ready for a turkey chili for this evening's meal and I'm going to add some cornbread on to that. I've had a craving for it so hope that it lives up to my expectations. Hopefully the skies will be clear enough to take Otto for a walk and then hoping to muster up enough enough energy for some type of fitness activity. Eating was terrible yesterday-cake in the morning that was for a belated birthday to my coworker and then one of the bosses returning from a trip to the bank appeared with chocolate covered ice cream crunch bars. I haven't had one of those in so long and it tasted so good...just a definite overload in the sugar department yesterday.

Nancy-hope you're continuing to feel better. Donna-hope you enjoy your time off.

Better get moving and finish getting ready for the work day ahead. Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

So I started a Veterans Day post, but went to look for something on another page, and everything died.

Hi Karen - I don't know about you, but I've learned to listen to that little voice in the back of my head.
