Good morning! Nancy, how did the dance lessons go?
I have a pretty laid back day
Miss P
Good Morning,
Another beautiful day here on LI.
Good Thursday Morning Sharlene, Patty, Karen, Nancy, Donna, Margo, Becca, Debbie, all my friends… and Newbies whom may be just lurking for right now.
Beautiful picture, Patty – love it!
THURSDAY’S THANKFULS: Mostly for the beautiful day approaching 70-degrees – yay! (It’s been a looong winter) Thankful that every single day gives me (and everyone) a new chance to start fresh. Thankful to have my health which with each passing year becomes so much more important to take care of… Thankful for my family and friends including you all on this board.
TODAY’S HEALTHY ACTIVITY
I have found that unlike before, I actually need to start in a particular order so as not to exhaust myself before the aerobic cardio stuff that I now seem to need every day – at least 30-min.
Jazzercise Live DVD 30-min – I love this tape because it can take my tired, non-motivated mind and body and give it a little kick to shake-off any negativity, pick up the arms and legs, smile, and get everything moving
Gilad Ultimate Body Sculpt Core & More DVD 20-min – This is very much the same kind of moves I’ve experienced in an actual Pilates Class at the gym. The entire tape is about an hour but today will be focusing only a few of the movements.
Gilad Quick Fit System Body Scupting DVD: This is my all-time favorite because it has all the good things I need divided into 15 & 20-min programs so can pick what I want and be done quick and has been THE tape that when used consistently, gave me noticeable results that I’d never seen before… Today, I’m going to focus on: Abs 15-min, Arms & Shoulders 20-min
***Rome DVD 30-min: This is a dvd specifically designed to correspond with walking/jogging on the treadmill so it feels like I’m going through the very scenic streets, shops and restaurants of Rome in the early morning.
***Maine DVD 60-min: This is a dvd specifically designed to correspond with any kind of stationary bike and gives a very scenic view of the beautiful state of Maine.
*** There is pretty good music on these dvds but usually opt to pick a playlist from my iPod and depending on mood, might pick easy-listening to high-gear energy. The ONE THING I really love about my iPod is that on the occasions when I’m not in the mood for any of my scenic tapes, I confess that I have been on the treadmill at a level 5 incline, speed 3.8 while watching a downloaded video of “Sex And The City” for 30-min which time just flew… ;-D
MY EQUIPMENT
NordicTrack brand treadmill
Johnny G Spin Bike
Stability Ball
Hand Weights: 5lb, 8lb, 12lb
Yoga Mat
TODAY’S MENU
BREAKFAST: Coffee w/Splenda & Hazelnut Creamer, Warm Banana-Nut Bread, Blueberry Smoothie, Vitamins
LUNCH: Usually, it’s leftover from the previous night’s dinner but being St. Patrick’s Day yesterday, we went out so am doing the frozen-entrée thing today: Lean Cuisine Cheese Ravioli, Red Delicious Apple Slices, Water
DINNER: VIA CROCK-POT: Polynesian Chicken With Pineapple And Chow Mein Noodles, Jasmine Rice, Green Salad, Green Iced Tea. It’s going to be a beautiful day and don’t want to miss it so will plan to set up the patio table and eat outside.
Wishing You Wellness And A Wonderful Day
Debra

Good Morning Everyone,
It's Thursday.

Good morning to all.

hi all
Susan,
Deb/MN
Thanks, Patty!
What I like about my Spin-Bike is that it's compact so doesn't take a lot of space and no need to plug-it-in... plus can adjust the knob so it's a very fluid, easy move and easy on the knees but would warn that it can be temporarily torture without padded bike-shorts ;-) lol!
Spin classes burn a lot of calories and usually involve various levels of resistance along with squats but have got great results at home sticking with mostly a constant speed (but not Road-Runner speed) and low resistance until I've built up strength for a new level.
