Sunday's Sunrise

Good Morning,

There was an intended beautiful picture of a sunrise but you're just going to have to use your imagination. I can't get either browser to copy the image no matter what I do. I had been using IE which gives me fonts, colors and allowed me that feature but neither safari nor Mozilla will let me do that. Another question for DD.

Anyway, it's Sunday-and what are your plans for the day?

Good Morning

Another hot and humid day yesterday and I think today will probably be a duplicate. DS said it was going to be a hot, dry summer and I think he's right. We're not even out of June and our ac's have been running full speed ahead.

The party last night was very nice. I will say DD can definitely plan, organize and put together a nice party. She did a whole beach theme with place cards placed in sea shells in rectangular boxes filled with sand. On each table she had round bowls filled with shells and tea lights surrounding them and colored sea glass on the tables. As favors she did little metal pails with a ribbon around the pail and a starfish holding the ribbon in place and then the guests were invited to fill their pails from a candy bar. She had all different types of beach type candies in glass jars on a table with a grass skirt decorating the outside of the table. She had done a candy bar with boxes as a wedding favor as well. Lots of cute details. I told her if she ever feels the need to leave the education field there's always party planning! The food was good-the only downside was the DJ really had the music up way too loud for the size of the room-but that always seems to be the case. It makes it hard to carry on a conversation. But he did have a great mix of music.

We got home to find that Ricky had somehow had managed to push the bottom of his crate halfway out the front opening perhaps to find his way to freedom. He also managed to chew the plastic edging up. Not sure what sparked that. We've really never left him alone for an evening but apparently he doesn't much like it. It took him awhile to settle down once we were home and I didn't get to bed until after midnight and I've been awake since 4:30.

I finally got up around 6 and went downstairs to take my weekly Actenol. The medication comes in a little box that you slide out and then push out the pill. Well lo and behold I pushed the slide out compartment to find that it was empty. I guess I threw the full one out and kept the empty one. I wasn't very happy. Since I only had it refilled a week ago I know I can't get a refill yet. Not a particularly good thing that I won't have any for the next 3 weeks but I at least no it won't do me any harm either.

In obtaining a gift card for DD's MIL yesterday I came upon a huge sale rack with 30% off. I can sometimes peruse the Lord & Taylor racks and come up with some really great buys. I found a really cute pleated front black shirt and a pair of slacks as well. I wasn't sure what I was going to wear to the party and thought this was a nice outfit. I didn't have the additional 20% coupon but the cashier found someone who had one and I got the additional discount and quite the buy it was! Already on sale with an additional 50%-how can you go wrong. And of course now I'm thinking maybe a cute pair of sandals since their sandals were 30% off. Came home with a cute pair of sandals that looked really nice. I'm always very apprehensive shopping by myself-not much confidence in what looks good on me and I'm in that stage of my life where I don't want to make myself like I still think I'm 30 but yet I don't want to look frumpy either. It's a weird fashion world out there! Apparently I made good decisions yesterday as DD thought the outfit was super cute! Nothing like shopping on a whim and scoring a great bargain!

I had high expectations of what I was going to accomplish today but not sure how far it's going to get me. I have mountains of paper up here that absolutely has to be gone through. I'm slowly understanding the Quicken program but thank goodness for online access to the bank so I make sure I don't make any monumental mistakes here at home and get myself into trouble. I do have to get to the grocery store, my nails are already polished pretty so hopefully I'll get to the grocery store early, fill myself with some high octane caffeine and see what I can get accomplished. This sense of things not being where they belong and being who knows where leaves me very unsettled and anxious and I know that's how things get lost. So along with getting a handle on the laundry that's my goal for the day.

On that note I'm headed to the basement and starting round 1 of laundry and then get some breakfast and my first needed dose of caffeine, get my grocery list together and then I'll be off to hopefully seize the day.

Susan, you described exactly how I feel when things are all in disorder in my home.

Patty,

I did see that lady in MORE magazine and I loved her quote too.
