I had dance rehersal today. I am the fattest mommy in the recital. I need to loose some weight fast.

I have 4 weeks to loose some weight (not get to my ideal weight, but loose something).

Thank You,

Mary

Remember, you're not fat...you're just changing your lifestyle. Think healthy, think fit and think balanced! It will take work, but you will become those things.

Mary, remember that "desperation" in losing weight can lead to some pretty unhealthy habits too.

First off Mary, I have to say how great you are to be doing the recital in the first place!! With as busy as you must be with 3 children you're finding the time to rehearse and be in a recital >hat off to you

I think the others have all said it- you're not fat- just look at that lovely photo of you and your adorable family!?!

Stef had suggested the 'jump start' (it's Kathy Smith) which could be a possibility to get things going for you. Let me know if you'd like the link for it.

Another couple of suggestions are-
water
walking
weights
careful/mindful eating

...you'll get there....and in the meantime dance away darling!

Maybe you're not at your ideal weight, but I agree that the negative self-talk is not going to help with your weight loss goals. I agree with the other posts that you should set small reasonable goals for yourself. You could incorporate more activity into your daily routine by taking walks, taking stairs instead of elevators, picking a parking space further from the store so you have to walk a longer distance, taking fewer bags at a time into the house when you're unloading grocery bags from your car. You like to dance, so turn on the music and dance with your kids. My daughter loves doing that with me. There are lots of ways to add burn extra calories during the day without joining a health club.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You're beautiful and so is your family.

Good luck,

Debbie

Hey don't be so hard on yourself.

I hate that word Fat and I even hate more the word DIET!

I can tell you what I do and I have lost so far 22 lbs and 28 inches total.

Hi,

Yes I am most of the time on Guy Talk, I just lurk here mostly.

www.fitday.com just came out with an at home version of their online service, however the at home version is 100x's better. It was only 20 bucks, so I bought it and downloaded it. I LOVE IT!!!

I try to stay around 1400-1500 calories a day, a try to stay in a low carb mode since carbs are my downfall.

An average day for me:

5:30 am: 27 minute Tae Bo Tape

8:00 am: Breakfast: usually a snack size cottage cheese or a myoplex lite protein drink

10:00 am: Snack: Handful of raw almonds

12:00 pm: Lunch: Large salad, lettuce, tomato, cukes, cheese (low fat) either ham or chicken or turkey on top (usually buy hillshire farms deli selects (you get 6 slices for 90 calories), light salad dressing, fat free jello

2:00 pm: Snack: light string cheese or some more almonds

4:00 pm: Workout 1 hour, Slim in 6 CD

6:00 pm: Dinner: Usually is steak, chicken, or fish with green beans or a salad

If I want a snack later on in the evening I will usually have some light ricotta cheese with almond extract (from the South Beach Diet book) or a fat free jello but I rarely eat a snack at night. I try not to eat anything past 8 pm.

I drink at least 4 (24 oz) bottles of water a day.

I also take Lean System 7 which gives me TONS of energy to make it through my workouts.

I also have a "cheat day" which I learned when I did Body for life, this is the day when I just eat whatever I want I don't think about it, I still workout. I usually do it on the weekends so I can go out for drinks and such, so far haven't put on any weight even after the "cheat" day. I don't completely cut out carbs, I will eat watermelon and pasta, I will usually only eat pasta once a week because any more than that is too tough on me...but now that summer is coming I will eat watermelon, but I could just eat cottage cheese and watermelon for lunch and be totally happy (ALOT OF WATERMELON). One thing I don't drink is coffee or tea. I drink water mainly and at night I drink caffeine free, diet pepsi...as a treat. If you cut out just regular soda its like 10 lbs just there.

I have to recommend the Slim in 6 program, I got it from www.beachbody.com and I got it in December, did it a few times and was like, this is bad I can't do this at all. Put it away and then pulled it back out at the beginning of March, since then I've been going strong and LOVING IT! Its challenging, you start out with one CD which is 25 mins long, you do that for a few days, then you go into the next CD which is 45 mins long which is VERY CHALLENGING...lots of squats lunges plies...my thighs were screaming at me for a week and then after 2 weeks of doing that, you go to the last CD which is an hour long and a lot more challenging, you do that for the next 4 weeks (slim in 6 weeks...get it) Anyhow, another thing is I didn't weigh myself everyday, when you work out a lot the muscle to fat ratio is pretty big and initially you can actually "gain" weight on the scale, so if you are easily discouraged I would encourage people not to weight everyday, once a week is plenty.

Try to weigh at the same time every week, I choose saturday mornings for my weigh in. Also I highly suggest investing in a tape measure and doing your body measurements, on the weeks I didn't see the scale move or the scale went up, seeing the numbers go down on my tape measure kept me motivated enough to stay in it.

Also, I listen to a hynosis cd every night before bed and I honestly think this has helped me to stay motivated, I can't remember the direct website's url but here is my homepage and there is a link at the bottom http://hometown.aol.com/deepinma/myhomepage/profile.html

I bought the weight release one. I keep it in my DVD player in my bedroom and at 10 at night I shut everything off, listen to it for 30 mins and then I drift off to sleep (whether it works to put positive thoughts in my head, I don't know, but it helps me sleep better) LOL

Anyhow...that's what I've been doing for the last 4 or so weeks, I have lost 4 inches off my hips alone, I'm so excited, I fell off during daylights saving week, it threw my entire schedule off, but I'm back on track finally. LOL
