Rewards???

Having reached the halfway point in my weight loss and lifestyle change goals, I have gone out and rewarded myself with new ink. I got a new tattoo Saturday. It is a tribal art butterfly high on my left shoulder blade. I will get more done as the weight continues to be shed.

What do you girls like to do for rewards? I feel like buying new clothes isn't really a reward because you need new clothes when you shrink. Neccessity is not rewarding.

I think that going to a day spa, or a night out with just myself and a good book at a local hotel and room service is a good reward. And the tattoo is a permanent reminder of the wonderful effort I have made. My final goal weight (not sure what that is yet: a ball park of 135-145 lbs) reward will be re-piercing my belly button.

I try to lose weight in 5 lb increments so I do not get discouraged. So I do not reward myself every 5 lbs. Maybe every 10 lbs. It takes me forever to lose 10 lbs.

Well, I just thought I'd ask how you all reward yourselves, I could use a few more great ideas, and I know you gals have em'

I have a tatoo already - Pooh Bear on the very top of my thigh. He only comes out in a bathing suit. So he has been hiding for a while lol. I was thinking about getting another when I reach my goal but my BF hates me having tats. I got the first one when we first started dating so he really didn't complain to much but now he is more vocal. Also I know you can get one safely if you go to a clean place but i have a fear in the back of my mind that I may catch something - the stress from worring would take the fun out if it for me. So I am planning on defantly a day at the Elizabeth Arden spa & than I may get a piece of very cool jewlery. Nothing crazy expensive but some thing that says Girl you lost150 pound & you deserve to be spoiled. Plus it would be a constant reminder of how far I came.

Be well. Keep up the ideas

Robym I also have that fear somewhere in the back of my mind! I also have to consider *where* to put one, if I did go ahead and get that brave, lol! Being a teacher I don't necessarily want to have one in clear view for the chilldren to see, don't think my admin. would either! A teacher friend of mine has one on her ankle and is constantly in long pants...even on the warmest of days, plus she has the hottest classroom- now that to me is just not worth it. If I had one I'd like to be able to *show it off* .... more thought on this is needed it seems!!

A funny thing. My cousin and I got ours at the same time. We both agreed that anyone in our family who got a tat, had to get the manta ray. His is inside the shell of his turtle, mine just sits alone. My brother was going to get one, we required the manta ray. lol. I know, we're just kidding, sorta.

Me, I just realized what is a NICE reward. Getting my hair done. I do it anyways, but maybe go wild when I lose weight. Oh wait, my colorist already does that. Hm..... I'm going to have to find something else for the "small" goals.

No more tats for me. BF would be VERY upset, and the ONLY reason I am respecting his wishes is because we are serious enough to the point of marriage. Otherwise, screw you, it's my body. lol.

We have a pool in the back yard (yes it does get hot enough somedays in Canada to swim, LOL) and we get alot of dragon flies landing in the pool. I go around with the net and scoop them out, lift their wings and help them get dry so they can fly away. I love them and find the colors so beautiful. The story Pam told is beautiful!!!

I have also looked at different tatoos of them and it is hard to find something that really represents their beauty!!! Glad to hear you can trade off your dhs handi work to get one, wish I could.

Somebody should come up with a "getting fit in your 30's symbol" that we could all tatoo on our bodies somewhere. LOL wouldn't that be neat. LOL

Maybe something like a big 30/? and a running woman symbol or something like that. LOL

Any ideas anyone. LOL

My sister-in-law got a tatoo (against her dhs wishes) of a mouse. When she came home that night she told her dh to be careful when they were making love because she got a tatoo of a mouse!!! He was very angry and wanted to see it. She told him it was up high on the inside of her thigh. When he went looking he couldn't find it. She said it is only a small mouse keep looking!!! He looked all over but still couldn't find it. Finally she said "oh darn, the pussycat must have ate it."

Sorry, just had to!!!

here's an idea...

I actually sent this to a friend who also wanted a dragonfly- I think to represent all the changes he had going on in his life, and the transformation of the new person he's to become...see below my siggy...

That's really nice looking. I wonder if it'd look as good as a tattoo. =) Makes me want one. Shhh..........

Maybe I WILL get my turtles. lol.

Kinda like those. lol. Great. I'd have the Turtle Bay Resort logo stuck to my body. lol. but it's cute. I'll have to talk to KC. Maybe I can compromise. my pierced belly for another tat on the back? how will i sleep?
