How do you decide what your goal weight or ideal weight should be? Are you trying to get back down to a weight you used to be, or are you trying to get down to a particular clothing size?

I'm just curious since I'm within a good weight range right now and I'm trying to figure out what an "ideal" weight would be for me. I think I'm coming to the conclusion that it's about more than weight. I want to be tone and strong, so I have to increase the exercise a little bit and just keep trying to eat balanced meals and drinking lots of water, of course. :-)

thanks for the replies everyone. I was just curious to see what you all thought about this topic. I think it's important not to measure success of fitness and healthy eating solely by the scale. Yes, our bodies do change as we get older and it makes perfect sense that 20 year old fat weighs more than 30 year old fat. ha ha ha. good one, Miranda. That just makes me feel so much better. :-) Like Steffy says, it's important to feel good in your own skin and Kim, thanks for the reminder to enjoy life day by day.

I know that 30 year fat weighs more than 20 years fat. I have proven that. I married at the weight of 132. I gained to 185 after i had first daughter and stayed there for 5 years. When I finally decided to lose weight I thought I had to to lose 50+ to get to wear my same wsize 9. I was very suprised when I got down to 150 and I fit in all my old clothes. To bad I did the same thing after my second preganacy. My goal weight is 145-150. 18 Pounds to go!

Just wanted to let you guys know, I am too close to the 40 side of 30, and I have decided to get my butt in gear and start exercising instead of just looking at what I am supposed to do with this walk it off challenge. My goal is 150ish and right now I'm at 188 so I got 38 more to go.

Talk to you guys soon,

Pam
