I'm going to scream!!!

ARGH! What is it with everyone today? I am seriously going to scream!

First of all, my office is a stupid open environment - everyone is in cubicles instead of offices. Well, the woman who sits near me is one of the loudest people I have ever had to deal with. I've asked her to keep her voice down and it worked for a while, but that was that. I'm pretty quiet when I'm on the phone with my clients - and they can HEAR HER! It is driving me crazy. She's esepcially loud on personal calls, so I know all about how she is trying to get pregnant and the apartments she is trying to buy and what she has on her stupid Netflix queue - it is absurd. I've asked to move, but there is nowhere to put me. I'm going to flip out soon.

Then, it was like everyone was insane at the gym. I generally like the Wednesday spinning class - the teacher is a good teacher and plays good music. But he talk s too much. I'm not there to listen to him - or any other teacher - yap. Anyway, there is one woman who comes to the Weds class and usually the Fri class too, and all she does is complain! She doesn't like the music. The class doesn't start soon enough. Just whine whine whine. Well, if you don't like the class, DON'T COME. Then, another woman came late, and even though she had signed up for the class, she was LATE so there were no bikes left for her. And she started throwing a fit. Look, the rules are that you have to be there 5 minutes before class or you can lose your seat. It sucks, but it's the way it is. So she ended up using the teacher's bike, so since he wasn't spinning, he had even more energy to yap!

To top it all off, the Yankees are losing!

I'm having other issues with people here at work making stupid mistakes. If we can work everything out in the end - especially at no cost to us - that's ok, but mistakes shouldn't be happening as much as they are. And the tricky part is that I'm not really in a position where I can do anything about it...with one person in particular, I'm not her boss, so what do I do? I can tell my boss - who is also not her direct boss - but is that even productive? How are you supposed to go about handling a situation like this? My boss has been on vaca for 2 weeks, so she doesn't know any of it has gone on - and again, I think we're getting out of it without any problems - so how do I tell her? It's just another bugaboo in my world right now driving me crazy.

In good news, I just ordered Sam his first two board games - Candy Land and Hi Ho Cherry O, so I look forward to playing those with him when they arrive. Can you believe that I live in NYC and can't find a decent toy store? How lame is that?

I was going to suggest headphones too- are there ones out there you can wear, and listen to music or something, but still hear the phone if it rings?

As for the 'cherries' fitting up the nose...I have to add that it's amazing what can fit up those tiny little holes known as nostrils!!! In my classroom I have SO many pieces of material that can do just that, and luckily I've had very few incidents when this has happened. We had one little boy this year fit a bead up his nose...
In my classroom I have 3-6 year olds, and I wouldn't have been that surprised if it had been a 3 year old, but it was one of my older 5's who did it! Not only did he scare himself, but us (the adults) and the other children too- hopefully it was a lesson learned by all ;-)
Can't remember how we got it out exactly...might have been with him 'blowing' or something though...

Anyway...have a look out for the headphones, I think that's a great idea!
