Hey we have all slipped while rushing in a home wanting to get laid...*wink* LOL

I would alternate between hot and cold...when I fell down the stairs a few years ago and I would go to PT she would put me on hot one week cold the next. I preferred cold, but she said you had to alternate...so I did, reluctantly. LOL

Hang in there kiddo!

To funny.

IG heal quick. Bummer about the fall. But now you have a reason lay around the beach.

Dee, Steph & Robyn-

Thanks for the good vibes, advice and chuckles!!

You know the sad part? No sex....getting onto the bed was tough enough- but there wasn't a chance of anything other than sleep happening. Apart from the fact that it was late, I wasn't agile enough to do anything other than lie there (which isn't necessarily a bad thing when it comes to between the sheets action, but I knew it wasn't going to help the pain I was in....)!

How do you do a heat compress when you don't have one? I thought of heating water up in a cup and using that, but does anyone else have other ideas of how to do it? I'll ice it down today, and mayber use some heat tonight. Also some tylenol should help!

As for the beach Robyn- there's a lot of rain forecast, but it's nice out at the moment. The only drawback is that I think I'd have a terrible time not being able to get into the ocean. It's difficult enough to walk on, let alone trying to negotiate sand and waves, lol! I'm even dreading taking a shower, as I'll have to 'hoosh' the leg over the tub!!

See.....I said I was a wuss!!

soak a towel in hot water and put it on you bruse. a hand towel would work. After it is wet you can microwave it or resoak it in hot water.

Thanks for that info Kerstin- and it seems that it's a bruise not a sprain- there's no sign of any swelling, but no sign of discoloration either! Humm......

I've been trying to move it a little more today, and even this morning I was able to use stairs normally (well going up anyway...yesterday I was going up and down one at a time)!

I've been icing it every hour today, which seems to be really helping!

It's so funny- I don't know what to do with the ice/heat. There are so many recommendations for both- either or and even both! Just this morning a friend of mine said ice for the first two days or so, then heat. Who knows...right now all I know is that the ice is making it feel better. I'll see how it goes continuing like I am, and I guess if I feel the need for heat I'll try that too. But right now I'm sticking to the ice.

As for HB's nursing abilities, lol!!! He's dreadful, so I'm not even venturing that far- but thanks for the suggestion ;-)
