Hello everyone!!! Just wanted to introduce myself to the board. I've been reading this board and a couple others for about a week and thought it was time to say "Hello" The support system here is wonderful, the information, the links to websites..etc. I've found to be very helpful. I've sat on my keester long enough and cried about the weight I've gained ( I use to be very fit and very active). Well you know when you just have that moment when you say "Enough is Enough" I can sit here and feel sorry for myself (while gobbling chocolate chip cookies) or I can finally decide to make a change. The Moment is NOW!!!!

Today is my new beginning.

The day that will start my new healthy lifestyle. What is going to make this time different then all the others, when I've got excited over the start of a new diet only to fall off the wagon? I think the key is the word "DIET" I'm never going on a diet again. I need a healthy lifestyle change. I need no restrictions, but sensibility and moderation. I've read all the diet books, visited all the websites, done my research.

So I have the knowledge but lack the willpower. What's holding me back? I think when I figure this out I will begin to see a radical change. I believe emotions are playing a vital role in my weight loss efforts. So it is time I have a heart to heart discussion with my inner being. It's time I take control of me instead of letting my emotions get the best of who I really am and what I can accomplish. I want so much to get a positive attitude and body image. I know that it's possible. I don't want to be pencil thin, I just want to be healthy and happy. I want to look in the mirror and see a positive, energetic, athletic, self confident woman SMILING back at me.

Well, think I've taking up enough of your time and will get back to reading post.......once again "Hello"

Happy Sunday!!

You'll find this a great board with super support and kindness! It's a little slow today, but things are sure to pick up by the morning ;-)

Hello again and thanks for the great replies. I had a good weekend and off to a good start of the week. I decided that the best way to change habits is to take a look at what it is I exactly need to change. By this I mean I'm doing a self evaluation. I changed nothing this week, did as I would normally do, eating, exercising...etc. But what I am doing differently is logging everything and at the end of the week I'll be able to self analyze and I think it will give me a realistic place to start. Pick a few things I can change and build from there, until I've developed new habits and a new way of life. Also I'm trying to write down when and why I ate...was it due to hunger, boredom...or was it an emotional response to a situation. I was wondering if anyone has taken this approach and were they successful? Look forward to your responses.

Have a happy day.

Kris
