Heather- am I right in what I read- your intake of calories is 1000 on exercise days and 700 on off days? If so this to me sounds like a low-low number. Though it may sound going in the wrong direction I would recommend you increasing this amount somewhat (around 1200-1400, even on off days!). When you aren't fueling your body enough it will start hanging on to anything it can, therefore preventing any weight loss!

The fact that you are still losing inches is great- and perhaps the indication that you are indeed gaining muscle (and not losing lbs at the same time). So, it's not a plateau at all ;-)

Nope IG its This dosen't really seem possible because I've been keeping my calorie intake about 1000+ below calories burned on days that I'm active and around 700 or so on days that I'm not.

Oops- sorry 'bout that! In that case check out the getting back on track link....and here are some other thoughts too-

  • Switch up your workouts- perhaps your body has become accustomed to your current exercise pattern. I know this happened to me.

  • Kick it up a notch- working your body a little harder than it's used to.

  • Don't forget your water! A key ingredient, in my opinion ;-)

  • Take a close look at your diet- is there anything you could change to help? (I don't know about the coffee thing)

  • Stick to it- this was my problem- when I hit that plateau I kind of gave up :-(

Hope that is more on track for what you're looking for ~IG

I have a heck of a time losing lbs., but seem to lose inches much more easily...don't know why. I can drop a pant size but still be the same weight and it makes no sense! I do, however, lift weights, so I'm hoping the weight gain is muscle. What kind of workouts do you do?
