This is important if you eat anything with Maltitol. It is used to replace sugar. If you eat somthing with it for the first time make sure you are with very good & forgiving friends & near a clean restroom.

To leave out the dirty details here is the short version. I had some sugar free cookies with it yesterday at around 3 pm by 5 pm my stomach was making very loud digesting noises. Draw your own conclusion how the rest of the night went.

On a positive note the cookies were good. ;)

I had it in Joseph's Sugar Free cookies. Some of the sugar free chocolate has it as well. I went to the Doctor last night for a physcal and mentioned it to her and she said that a form ofmaltitol is prescribed for constipation. Too funny.

But still the cookies were really good.

I guess cookies on a diet are not ment to be.

All sugar free candy come with a warning that consuming too much can in some people cause flatulence and diareah.

I was on atkins several years ago, didn't read the warning ate a bunch of sugar free candy the night before my flight to FL. I was in a state the whole trip, oh my god it was AWFUL. Massive stomach cramping, diareah...it was so uncomfortable. If you already have stomach issues like IBS I don't recommend eating sugar free candy in large quantities. It doesn't effect everyone this way, I guess it's kind of like Olestra, I can eat chips with Olestra and I don't get diareah but some people do. Live and learn.
