Danskin sprint Triathlon next year

I am just starting to try to get ready to do this next year in Orlando.

It should be 400y swim, 12 mile bike, 2 mile run.

I am able to do the swim part in 8 min, which is fine with me (of course faster would be great but 400y straight is wonderful at any speed LOL). I finished 10.5 mi on the stationary bike yesterday (my longest in forever), and am hideously out of shape when it comes to running.

I would love to find anyone who is also training for their first sprint triathlon. It looks like a whole lot of fun.

Welcome to the board Dolli! That sounds terrific- and you sound like you're well on your way to being totally prepared for it!

Like Miranda said- we have a challenge starting next Monday, it will be great if you can join all of us in it. Looking forward to hearing more about how your training goes ~IslandGirl

Hi Dolli...

Welcome to the board from a fellow newbie. You will love Triathlon. Becareful though they are very addicting. I can't wait to start training for next season and I just FINISHED this one (my second season.) I've done Sprint and Oly. They are both alot of fun. If I can help in any way please let me know. Even if you just want to be Board Training buddies to keep each other motivated. Now that Miranda mentions it the Board Challenge next week looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to get to know more about you and how you are comming along.

NO one every got ahead by sitting on their behinds. :)

PS sorry this sounds off... I've been homeschooling and doing homework all day with this child or that and I can't seem to think coherently anymore. ROFL.

Thanks,

I am looking forward to staying on track with you ladies.

Sabrina - my ds started kindergarten this year and simply doing 20 min of homework twice a week with him has me tearing my hair out. So I can't even imagine what homeschooling him would be like. I can certainly imagine you are ready for a mental break this time of day!

Hi Dolli

Fun age! How are you holding up to Kindergarten so far??? If I remember correctly the first month is the hardest as a Mom. They look so little going into the school. 4 of ours are actually in public school so even when I finish homeschooling the one I have about 3 hours of homework to look forward to when the rest get home. You are right it's enough to make you go bald. LOL

I managed a 3 1/2 mile run today. It felt so good to get back out there, And I managed to loose the 5lbs I put on since my last race. YAY! I still have maybe a 30 min bike and core work later tonight but I'm playing it by ear. Were you able to get a workout in today???
