Hi Ya Dolli...

How did your week go??? Did you get to the pool? I was soooo bad. My pool day was during the thunderstorms so, ofcourse the pool was closed O well. LOL. Check in and let me know how you are doing.

Tri Diva Tip of the week. Ultra Swim Shampoo and Conditioner work wonders for chlorine drenched hair. If you put a small dab of the conditioner on your damp locks before going into the pool it will reduce the amount of chlorine that your hair absorbs. I hate swim caps because I have super fine hair that tends to break off with the caps. So this is all I do to keep manageably beautiful hair. I also use an intense conditioner a couple of times of week to fix any problems I was unable to prevent.

Hi Sabrina

I did get to the pool on Friday. We were far enough east of the hurricane that the weather was really nice. I swam 1500 yards total. Did a 400y swim in there and a 100y sprint at the end before I cooled down. Besides those I usually swim 100 and 200 yard segments. I wear a hr monitor and that thing beeps like crazy. One of these days I hope to stay in my zone a bit more while I swim.

I did a step class on Monday, and cardio and weight training during the week, but nothing out of the ordinary - I honestly couldn't even tell you what I did it was so routine. I would know if I exceeded my usual or fell short.

I did 3 miles at a steady pace on the treadmill and worked my legs in the weight room today. I hope to swim laps on Wednesday. I want to get in as much swimming as possible (without dropping everything else) before they close the pool until next May. There is an indoor pool I can go use on the base, but I will have to get a sitter and its open very short hours (basically before work, lunch, and after work for a couple hours 4-6pm). Getting a sitter, then getting up there in time will be a challenge.

My eating habits are terrible and that is the biggest challenge for me right now. I know the endurance will come in time but nothing is going to change my eating except sheer willpower. I wish it came in a can LOL

How are you doing so far this week?

You Did Great Dolli!!!

I'm totally impressed. :) I know how hard it is to get things done with small kids around. Last week I did all my planned workouts except for the two swims. However, I made up for them with some stretching sessions just to stay on target for the challenge and I threw in a couple of extra walks. So far this weekend I rode horses,on sat. and cycled for 45 mins on sun. I'm about to go for another 45 min bike today. Wed and Friday are normaly my swim days this time of year and I focus on the bike on Sun and Mon and the Run on Tues, thurs. I also try to walk the boys back and forth to school and myself when I have errands up there or take my bike and work on technique since it's only about a mile walking and a mile and a half each way by bike. Last week I managed approx 8+ extra walks.

O and I'm doing pushups on my exercise ball as my arm focus for this weeks challenge exercise.

Feel free to check up on me Thurs or Fri and make sure I got my lazy self to the pool. LOL.

LOL actually I am going to change my user name to dollimama one of these days. A lot of people don't see the play on words unless they sit and think about my name, and then "lama" and the 26 is just my birthday.

Aw, now YOU did great. I totally forgot about the stretching.

I read the challenge today and I think I am going to do pushups around the house in spare moments.

You are so active. Horsebackriding sounds wonderful. I haven't been on a horse since I was 12 - that is 22 years OMG! I rode english and jumped a little but it was purely recreational for me - I was never strong enough to be competitive. It must be nice to be able to walk your kids to school (although on bad weather days, I bet it stinks - I hope you can drive them on those days).

Today was beautiful I don't think it even reached 80. Its going to get hot as fire again soon but by mid October it should be nice enough for me to take the little ones on walks again. Since it is wrestlemania 4 if they are in a side by side stroller, I guess I will put my daughter who is 26 lbs in the jog stroller and my son who is about 22 lbs in the backpack and hoof it around my neighborhood.

I'll check back at the end of the week so we can update each other!

Dolli...

You and me both. LOL My youngest Step daughter (15) has been a competitive english rider/hunter jumper since she was 5. So I've gotten back into yee hawing around as she calls it (cause I've only done trail riding etc) with her at the barn from time to time. The barn we board at has several "unused" horses so they encourage me to come exercise one when I get in the mood. It's a great break to all that swimming, biking and running. I love triathlon but without a break from time to time I think I could easily burn out.

As for walking the boys to school, It's wonderful we live in a great neighborhood right behind the elementary school. It's so close that the neighborhood constructed a walking path from the back door of the school to the neighborhood when they built the school. We live about one block over from the actually path so one way it's a tiny bit over 1/2 a mile. So on good days, I walk the boys to and from school. That way they get a nice little walk and it helps get them either awake or wound down from after school and I get a built in 2+ mile walk every day. Ofcourse when it's super cold/ someone is sick/ or rainy etc. then I just drive to school. This week on the days we walk we are going to stop at the pond (there is a large area of grass right next to it)and play a quick game of soccer. I'll probably mostly watch that one but I think it will do the boys good to run off a bit of steam after all this rain. The bike trainer works but it's inside and we all know little boys need fresh air or they go nuts. LOL.

Okay and to keep this on topic not that it matters a wit. Today is a run day so when I go to pick up the boys this afternoon, I'll do about 3 miles before they get out of school.

Talk to you Soon

Sabrina
