OK...I am back...

What's it been - almost 2 months?

Well, for a number of reasons, I'm going to try coming back to this board and being active here and getting myself back on track with my fitness.

Over the last 2 months or so, I've had a ton of business travel, a 2 week vacation, more business travel, an injury to my neck, and a ton of stress at work. Put that all together, and I've gained a bit of weight. I'm back up around 153-154, which is just too high. My fall clothes won't fit unless I am 148, so that is a pretty immediate goal for me. I do need to do some shopping, too, since a lot of my clothes are old and ragged, and it would be nice to be able to buy things that I don't have to tailor afterwards.

In the meantime, the stresses at work, the pressures of being a working mother, and the pressures of life in the world today (financial, safety, education, etc etc) have basically been making me kind of sick. I really messed up my back and neck from keeping all of my stress in. Part of the problem is that I haven't been communicating with other people enough. So I am going to try to be more involved here and hopefully help alleviate some of that tension for myself.

All that being said...today my eating has been good so far. I had a large bowl of oatmeal prepared with skim milk with some strawberries and brown sugar. Then for lunch I had a chef salad with cheese, turkey, ham, roast beef and half an egg with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I know there was a lot of fat in the cheese, but I need something to sustain me, and there wasn;t too much meat in it. I had brought my lunch the last two days but couldn't do it this morning. I did eat ok the last two days but yesterday I had gelato at a new place that opened near work (that is my weakness) and then I probably overate at dinner. I have made it to the gym each day this week and am trying to keep my water up. My plan is to work out as often as I can and just try to eat natural foods with a good mix of protein, fruits, veggies and whole grains. Hopefully I'll have some positive news to share on the weight loss front soon.

We also are officially ttc #2, and I'd like to have some more weight off before I get pregnant. I currently weigh 3 lbs more than I did when I got pg with Sam. I honestly hope that I am pregnant in less time than it takes me to lose all the weight I want to lose, but we'll see how it all plays out.

My first goal is to get back to the weight I was last year at this time, where my clothes fit - 148. My next goal after that is to be 141, which is where I was in Jaunary of '03. The end goal is to be 135, though I'm not sure if that is realistic. But I'd really like to see the 141 again. It seems so far away now.

I'm going to try to catch up on some posts. It should be quiet here today but get crazy again towards the end of the week. Then I have to go to AR on business on Monday, just overnight, but it's still another trip...

Hey Erica- good to see you back here with us!!

Sorry things have been so busy, hectic, stressful for you recently-- try some Yoga! It really does help, alot of things!

As Miranda suggested, why don't you join us on the challenge? You'll find this weeks challenge in the 'check in' folder, under Week 3 (yellow food week).

Looking forward to seeing you around again, and I see you posted in the journal section, which I'll check out in a bit.

Happy to see you back ~IG
