Body Types...and exercise...

Hourglass, pear, ruler, cone....

Is your upper body the part that needs more work? Your mid-section? Your lower half? Or everywhere?

Here's a quiz I found and took just to see what it said about me.
http://quiz.ivillage.com/diet/tests/bodytype.htm?dst=rss&arrivalSA=1&cobrandRef=0&arrival_freqCap=3

I figured I was a 'cone' (which the quiz said I was). When it came to recommending exercises for my 'body type' they kind of stayed away from most upper body workouts, and focussed on more lower body- but that end of me is fine..... I want to lose & sculpt my upper half, along with tone my lower end! I guess I know what works for me, regardless of the advice I read.

See what it says about you....and let us know if you think....

Happy Halloween!

Spoon here too, which doesn't come as much of a surprise. Though I could have seen myself as a cone.

Erica- I wonder are a spoon and cone the same? You know if you hold the spoon 'upright'? Hummm....if only 'they' would all stick to the same descriptions!!!

For the longest time I didn't ever think I was an hourglass. That is, until I gained weight and read more and more about how ppl gain weight. I was surprised when most ppl didn't realize how much I weighed. I have to say, being an hourglass does have

my pet!

Hi I'm new to this board today and I am happy I found it and hope to post more often. I saw your post and was interested in taking the test....

I went to take the 'test' and it only made me confused. I have a problem 'seeing' myself the way I really am. So the test didn't do anything for me. I'm more confused now...lol. I am part Hourglass, one third Ruler, one fourth Spoon, and one eight Cone I guess...lol.

No, Really I believe I am either Ruler or Spoon or Hourglass. I am not Cone. I can easily gain and lose weight and when I do I lose and gain it evenly over my body. I am in proportion. I don'thave a really large belly but have a problem with 'saddlebags..just a little but I can still wear lowriders at my age and they are more flattering on me. I have strong legs and thighs and I've been told many times that my legs are a great asset. I do have larger breast (36C). I am a size 4-6 (S) at the top of my body but I wear an 8 on the bottom and a 6 if I want to look Hoochie or if I don't mind going without breathing for a few hours...lol. People also always tell me that I look much smaller than what I know the scale to say. I've been as high in weight as 167 (Post baby) and people were like there is no way you weigh that much but I really did. I am normally between 135-143 and I stand 5'5. People always guess that I am around 125 or so.

I don't think I will use this test as a litmus test. I think the test is a crock. Especially when they use the celeb pics for comparison. My body doesn't look like anyone of those celebs....but I figure I am closer to being a ruler or hourglass but I will continue to work out as normal. I won't take their advice. I think I've been doing okay so far....

Take care ladies

Welcome to the board Super! I agree with Miranda, those tests are really only a guide. And like I said one of the reasons I posted it was to see if everyone else got 'doesn't necessarily apply to me' results. I think we all ultimately know what works and what doesn't work for our bodies...so long as there's consistency!

Looking forward to seeing you 'round ~IslandGirl

Happy Halloween!
