Carb questions

I'm on a diet that I am allowing myself to have 1700 calories per day in order to lose some weight. I'm 207 pounds and 5' 8", 34 years old.

I was wondering with this amount of calorie intake, how many carbs should I be eating. I heard around 10 and that just can't be done! (Atkins crazed or something - 10!) SOmeone else told me 300g. That seems like an awful lot.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Well, it's supposed to be 300g (25g of dietary fiber) for 2,000 calories. So for 1700, that would be about 250g (21g of dietary fiber).

Of course that's the normal amount, not if you're interested in cutting carbs

Thanks Miranda- you know I am always confused over this issue, but your points are exactly what I needed to see what was meant by your 10-50-40, lol!

And welcome to the board Willpower, I hope Miranda's post helped you figure things out!

I also needed willpower in fact my boyfriend always says I have as much willpower as he has in his little finger. So I thought I just had to share the No willpower needed system I have come across. Also means no calorie counting and no carb or fat counting. Perfect for the lazy person that I am - too many other fun things to do to count all that stuff. It is high in protein and I have experienced more energy than I have had in years. Plus I just don't get hungry!!!! I found the program on the web at www.nuhealth4you.com they have a neat BMI calculator so you can see just how much weight loss will get you into the healthy weight range. I have been on it for a bit over a month and lost 6 lbs without any effort!!! So can't wait to see what happens next month. My friends are already commenting that I am looking better. :)

Hope this helps you and I would be interested to hear your results.
