Food weirdness

I don't know exactly what to attribute it to (still no AF, but I think she is coming any day now judging by my delightful acne this week) but I am just kind of grossed out by food right now. It's not that I don't want to eat - I do - I just don't find any of it particularly enjoyable. Last week I was totally into my middle eastern salads with hummus and today I made one and I literally can not eat it. I checked this AM and saw that there is a preservative in the hummus AND in the babaganouj I got (see, I was shooting for purple with the eggplant!) so that could have something to do with it, like i'm reacting to the preservative taste since I eat so little of that. But it is just vile. So I ate the peppers anmd tomatoes and cucmbers that were untouched by the hummus and I'll grab something else a little later.

MOnday I had a yummy sandwich but it made me so full I coulnd't eat dinner. Yesterday I had a business lunch and struggled to find anything to order. And I love the restaurant! I did end up eating well - an asparagus soup (may have had cream in it) and mussels steamed in coconut milk and belgian fries - but I just felt icky after eating. We made homemade pizza last night and that was delicious. But then this AM, the thought of my oatmeal was also just gross. I ate it anyway, but didn't really enjoy it.

I think it is probably 2 things: stress, and at least in the case of lunch today the preservatives. And maybe just being sick of eating the same thing all the time. I have new work stress (my new boss who has been here a month has resigned so we have to go through this all again with a new new one), of course I have no idea yet if I'm pregnant or not (though I am leaning strongly towards NOT, which is fine), and the baseball playoffs are just sucking my last bit of energy away each night. Hopefully once AF arrives (or doesn't) and the Yankees win (or don't) I can at least relax a little more.

But does anyone else go through this, where no food is really enticing?

Erica, I will be interested to see if your visitor comes. When I was first preggers, my fave foods became repulsive. Otherwise, it may be attributed to your new diet and WOE. I can be craving something so badly and when I get it, it tastes like crud or the grease makes me sick. I think it is because I have learned to eat differently. Make sense??

Every month when she comes around, there are foods I cannot eat, like any type of salads for some reason.

Hey Erica, I would definitely agree that TOM and stress could have something to do with it.

Gosh I hit that sort of feeling quite a bit....just can't find anything good, even though I might think that I'm craving it, etc....Sorry Erica I don't seem to be helping you here, just encouraging it, lol!

One way or another something is going on ;-)
