That was EYE opening!

After I read Miranda's comment of taking her measurements in the ~~November Challenge~~ post, I thought to myself 'when was the last time I took mine?'

Would you believe I haven't taken them since May?

May? I guess I really didn't want to know the whole truth about slacking off!

SO--- after my walk (and push & sit ups) out came the measuring tape!

ACK!!!

However the good thing about now knowing them again is that I feel re-focussed on what I HAVE to do to change them. Thankfully the weather is cooling down (at last!) and the idea of taking a walk or working out is not too bad ;-)

Anyone else taking their measurements for this challenge?
Or have you experienced an eye opening experience lately?

I think I will take my measurements tonight before I start my workout. I really do need something by which to - well - measure my progress. I am not into weighing everyday. Weight is so relative to time of the month, time of day and even temperature.

Obviously it can be of value though. What do you think about the scale for measuring i.e. how often and what time of the day would it be best to weigh one's self?

For me I have to restrict myself to getting on those (darn) scales. I try to only do it on Monday mornings. (Miranda suggests after peeing, but before showering....less water weight, lol). Keeping your weigh/measuring time consistant is important- for not only accuracy, but for peace of mind too.

My plan is to measure once a month, and I've been only weighing myself every two weeks recently. This works for me. I think once a month is realistic enough for measuring, and once a week for weighing.

But really it's up to you how often you do it.

By the way- I love your quote on your profile- Everything is difficult before it is easy.
And what is the May-December relationship board about?

I take my measurements often enough to know when I'm being bad. LOL. That's why I'm not taking them for a week. (Can we say Halloween Candy?)

Anyway, I'm Replying to your question about the May December board. It refers to age gaps between partners. Such as my husband and I (19 years). I tried that board a year or so ago but it didn't give me the warm fuzzies you ladies do.

Miranda,

I take measurements monthly, and can see myself doing so for a long time to come perhaps the rest of my life.

Yea, I agree Heather- once a month for measuring is enough to keep you on your toes. Good luck in kicking up your cardio...

I am new here as of today-but I have beening doing monthly measurements (on the first of the month) in Sept-Oct-and then again yesterday, Nov. 1st. I think it is a great way to track progress.

The quote is on a piece of art in my apartment. The accompanying photo is of a young gymnast on a balance beam.

May December Relationships is for people dating someone much older (or younger). My guy is the older, although he said he is about August, not December. He's in his late 40s. He's a sweetie.
