This question was on a board for leaders, and while I've already been through the Thanksgiving hassle, I sometimes forget that for the Americans, November is really the start of a lot of chaos and cooking!!

What is the biggest stress you'll face in the next few weeks?

Well, I have to apply for an extension for my accounting course, since I've not been keeping up.

*** I get pretty depressed around the holidays, not stressed. It's a lot of effort for me to get together with family and not feel lonely for not being in a relationship for the last 6 years. I have to force myself a lot to go to parties. Thanksgiving we are going out to dinner so no stress about cooking, christmas I'll probably cook or my mom. Thanksgiving is a pain to cook for whereas christmas not so much, I'll just make a roast.

and How do you plan to "de-stress" so you can handle all the things you know you'll need to do?

*** If I knew how to destress I wouldn't be clenching my teeth at night when I sleep...LOL

The ENTIRE month of November... LOL

Making final flight arrangements for our college daughter to come home for Christmas. Planning some options for the PTA 3 year phased rebuild of the Elementary schools playground (Due the 18th). Writing a template for the schools writing/literacy night so that we can have parent's and students write about a subject in a minamal amount of time and without the need of Teacher quidance. (Due in 2 weeks). Getting geared up for my first Authors Tea as Director of the Schools Publishing company. (2 1/2 weeks). Alex and Cory's Birthday 2 1/2 weeks. Thanskgiving dinner for 12 at Home (3 weeks). O and just to add a wrinkle Frank will be out of town more then he is home this month and I have a new workout buddy to make sure I don't slack.

Chocolate??? LMAO Ok seriously, I'll make sure to get in my Workouts that always destresses me especially the runs. On top of that I'll take time to do something nice for myself weekly.

I have to say that I will be in shear heaven during the next 3 weeks with Thanksgiving looming ahead. This is because my MIL moved out a few weeks ago after living with us for 6 years.

No more bowing down to what she wants to do for Thanksgiving. No more sharing the kitchen. I can make whatever food I want whenever I want. No more backseat cook telling me how I should make the turkey and rolling her eyes when I tell her how I want to make it if I read about a new cooking technique.

My de-stress is to just appreciate having my family and house all to myself this year. No traveling, no one is coming over.

Getting ready for another set of parent/teacher conferences....more stressful than I let myself think they are! Upcoming 'holiday' program at school- what to so, organizing it, getting the children prepped, etc... Nothing too stressful over the actual holidays, not sure what's going on for either T'Giving or Xmas- however my parents are coming to visit for New Years, so getting the house 'prepared' for them staying will cause me some stress ;-)

I plan on getting a massage sometime in the next couple of weeks, plus walking should help me too.

Moderation IS Key!

What is the biggest stress you'll face in the next few weeks? In March my grandma. my mom's mother, died. Then in June, after a risky but necessary surgery, my Uncle Bob, my mom's only brother died. The first challenge will be Thanksgiving. Aunt Carol wants my fam to come to her house, but my cousins are feuding so my mom would rather not be involved in that mess. But she feels bad for Aunt Carol too so I am not sure what we are doing about that. As for Christmas, we have celebrated Christmas Eve at Grandma's every year without fail since I can remember. My mom said that the tradition began long before we were born too. And my sister and her husband and kids, who live closer to my parents that do I at this point, may be moving right about that time. So mom is sad about the holidays. I feel bad for her, and I don't know what to do. It's going to be tough. I interviewed for a new job Friday and am waiting for a call back for a second interview. At least it wouldn't involve moving for me, but it would involve more money!

and How do you plan to "de-stress" so you can handle all the things you know you'll need to do? Two things, as always, if I can get my workout in, it makes things better. And after I have my Christmas tree up and all my lights and stuff, I like to spend a little time before bed with just the Christmas lights and/or candles lit listening to Christmas music.
