Except I clench my teeth, so now I had to ask my parents to pay a portion of a night guard for christmas, excellent, love those practical christmas gifts. 436 dollars and the insurance doesn't pay a red cent. JOKE!!!
Anyhow, one of my biggest vices is caffeine free diet pepsi, I don't drink regular soda very often, and I drink water all day long, I only sip diet pepsi at night or if I go out to a restaurant. Well she said that the phosphoric acid in it is really bad and although there is no sugar the phosphoric acid depletes the calcium and wrecks the enamel so she'd prefer if I switch to diet sprite, diet 7up or diet gingerale as they don't contain phosphoric acid.
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT MY CAFFEINE FREE DIET PEPSI!!!

Well ladies, I'm not a pop drinker, but do understand caffeine addiction.
I really need to ask my dentist if he can tell how much soda I drink. Cuz I tend to drink it through a straw and I have NEVER had a dentist tell me to lay off the soda cuz of my teeth/enamel whatevers.
Bummer on the soda. It's not easy to give up, caffeinated or not.
I knew I had seen a similar conversation or news tip somewhere, and I found that it was a Real Age Tip of the Day a while back . . .
A Smile Fizzler
The acid in fizzy drinks, even diet varieties, may contribute to enamel erosion that can weaken teeth, according to research. Enamel is the hard, outer layer that protects teeth. Rinse or chew sugar-free gum after you drink soda to neutralize acid and minimize damage to your pearly whites.
RealAge Benefit: Flossing and brushing your teeth daily can make your RealAge as much as 6.4 years younger.
