Arrgh! Gained 4 pounds!

Hi again! I had posted on this board a couple of months ago. I had tried to maintain my weight between 134-137 pounds, and ended up fitting into a size 6-8 pants. I'm 31, and I had lost 25-30 pounds as of Nov '03. Now, with the increased pressure from the holidays and finding a new job (along w/a new b.f., who actually is turning out to be awesome!) I've gained four pounds and now weigh about 141. I'm trying to cut my tall Gingerbread latte w/whip and non-fat milk habit daily. I'm working a temp position right now near Starbucks, and I'm trying to avoid that place.

For the most part, I'm continuing the exercise routine I used to lose weight over a year ago (30-40 min cardio 3-4x/wk and upper wt routine 1x/wk and lower wt routine 1x/wk.). I've lost 1 pound these past two weeks, but I want to lose obviously a pound per week. I put in a boot camp class on Mondays for 45 minutes hoping that would improve my wt loss rate. I'm trying to do 1500-1600 cal per day. These past couple of days, I've been running late at work and only have enough time to fit in a granola bar in the morning. At lunch, I feast on, if I'm lucky enough either a Healthy Choice meal...or unluckily chips and a Shlotzky's Corned beef reuben with unsweet tea.

Surprisingly enough though, I weigh 141 and still fit in size 6 pants. I weighed 141 a year ago, and could only fit in size 8s. Any suggestions?

Could it be you are gaining muscle? I weigh more now, also, but fit better into a size 6 pant. When I look at my scale, I feel like some big, muscular "Helga," but really I don't look all that muscular. It sound like you are trying a good calorie intake, so I wonder if you are just gaining muscle.

I would have to agree with Sylvia here- sounds like you are working hard at keeping up your exercise, and your calorie intake seems fine too. (Perhaps a weekly 'treat' at Starbucks could be something you could do, to help change that habit)

It's good to see you again!
