Failed my goals.....ugh.

So, my first goal was to start walking 4 days a week. Yeah, that went out the window. And now it's time for me to start doing more.

I dunno, I am so sucking at this losing weight bit. Bleah. I am so fat now, my pants are tight and I am seriously starting to think I may need to go buy some higher sizes cuz I'm VERY uncomfy. I think I may push it for two weeks in hopes of getting some of it off, just so I can feel comfy again.

Since starting here. I have gained 10lbs. Enough that my clothes are VERY tight and VERY uncomfy. To the point where I have a nice roll (or two) hanging over my pants, yuck!

Help! someone just slap me.

Cher, I'm not going to give you slap (how about a hug??), BUT I do know that part of being successful is making your fitness a priority.

I'm sending a BIG HUG your way too Cher! I agree with Miranda- you seem like you're doing it all or nothing at all. Many of us are like that. I'd suggest, and I hate to be repetitive here.......baby steps! Miranda's suggestion of one time a month is good- it's a start at least. I'd also encourage WATER! It's amazing the difference an extra couple of ounces of it can change things! Try it....

How about a written contract with yourself? Post it on the fridge, or somewhere.....look at it each time you see it. Have a 'goal' and 'reward' for getting to the end of it. Do a weekly contract if you have to.

Just some thoughts....

BUT please remember we are here for you; urging you on when you need it, or just for a big ol' heap of encouragement. No slapping though ;-)

Moderation IS Key!

Man, these other posters have some great ideas. Like Heather said, paying attention to what one eats is a big help. I write everything I eat down on a calendar with big blocks, what I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner on each date, and snacks too. I still end up with one "bad" day each month. Knowing that I would have had to write down the handful of chips I wanted to "sneak" has actually kept me from sneaking things. Besides seeing what's wrong with my diet, I have been able to track my progress in adding fruit and veggies. It's been an interesting three months. I am not sure how much longer I'll do it though.
When I do have a big PMS snack day or something like that, I still sometimes beat myself up about it. I try not to, just accept it and make the next days full of colorful, living foods. (Some guy that sells juice machines on TV says fruits and veggies are "living foods.")
Setting little goals is great. Even if you miss, you're making more progress than if you hadn't set one.
Good luck, Cher.

Cher

I feel your pain. I have so much going on now too that I am loosing things and forgetting things.

The suggustions were all great. I need to get a set plan and make time for me. I am looking forward to sleeping in Thanksgiving.

Baby step you way to your goals.

Thanks Miranda,

And I think you're right about the ADHD. It is kinda all or nothing, and yes, other priorities have snuck in. But also, knowing how busy I'll be next semester, leaves me with very little time to work out, and therefore, more pressure, y'know! lol. I need to do what you said. Start slower than I even said I would. Like aim for a specific day everyweek and DO IT.

Thanks. All your suggestions were great, and I'm going to do what I can.

i.e. today, I wanted to hit the gym, well, I didn't even think about it until I was on my way to work, sans gym bag. So, I'm going to go home and do SI6. And my goal is to do it tomorrow. That's simple. Tonight and tomorrow, no excuses. =) It's a start.

The reward program doesn't seem to work. I think because I have "spending" issues too. Meaning, I will tell myself. I get a cd if I do this for two weeks. Or whatevers. But then at the end, even if I didn't, I say, "i tried, therefore, I get the cd" more or less, cuz it's a justification to buy it. lol.

As much energy as I put into NOT exercising, I should burn SOME cals right? lol. j/k.

Baby steps.
