Hello all you Gorgeous Fit Fantastic Females...
Sorry, I've been MIA but UGH it's busy as heck around here right now. With all 7 kids and 2 grandchildren plus various extended family comming in for Christmas, I've been totally focused on cleaning and shopping. Thank goodness for my new workout buddy she has helped keep me on track, although this next week is an off week for us both. I've sort of scanned the boards a bit from time to time and I see several of you are starting to feel the inevitable Holiday BLUES. Do yourself a huge favor and Fling that old scale out the window for two more weeks. THen on the third week get it out but don't step on it. Concentrate on eating the right portion of anything you put in your mouth. If this gets too hard write everything you eat down and add those nubmers if that still isn't enough motivation THEN go stare at that dang scale because you have to jump on it next week and this is your chance to loose a few lbs before you have to be accountable.
For whatever reason dieting never works during the holidays... please please don't be too hard on yourself. You are not failing you are just starting prematurely. The most you should be concentrating on right now during this busy holiday season is getting some form of exercise atleast 3x a week. Go for a walk in the brisk air. Go to the Mall and wander around and watch everyone else rush to get their shopping done. If you have a yoga tape this is the perfect time of year to break it out and use it's relaxing properties to keep you sane. This time of year even the athletes of the world go into maintenance mode and enjoy the holidays. The NEW year is comming and with it a NEW YOU. Use this time to reflect on what worked for you last year and what didn't. Start gearing up a plan of action so you can hit the ground running. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY ... Take some time to LOVE YOURSELF.
Merry Christmas to all

Sabrina- good to see you! Things definitely sound like they are going well for you- good job! I can't imagine how busy you are preparing for all those visitors (I only have 2 and am going nuts with the cleaning, etc....though grant it they are my parents, lol)....
You've made some fantastic points in your post for ALL of us to keep into consideration this time of year. Thank you!
Wishing you and your family the happiest of seasons and best wishes for the new year ~IG

Hi Miranda...
Tues is the last day of school for the kids. Our second oldest daughter (24) arrived from Utah Sat night, and is already reeking havoc on her siblings. My parents will come over Christmas morning to open presents with the kids and then our oldest daughter arrives the 27th with her husband and 2 babies. Jan 1st, Franks Mom and sister and his nephews + their families will be over for the family Christmas celebration/Bowl party. I should definelty be around a bit more after Jan 12th as life should get a bit more relaxed. LOL but as I say that I know something will inevitably come up.
Great Job on the 5k. You'll have to give us a race report after you run it. :) And you get extra brownie points for running a race in the cold. That definetly proves you have the motivation and stamina to do a sprint in the summer. :) I may have to restart the weekly triathlon thread.
Merry Christmas
