Hey there all!

I slipped away from this board but I have not been slacking off on the workouts.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Sabrina, what triathlons/races do you plan on doing this spring/summer?

I haven't swam in a couple of months but dh is due home from deployment in a few days so now I can go to the indoor pool (that has no babysitting). I have to get on schedule now to make sure I am balancing my training between bike, running and swimming. I asked for (from my mom) and got a stationary trainer for my bike, now I have to salivate every time I see it until Christmas comes. It arrived in its orignal box so its staring me in the face all day long! I am also anxious to make sure my bike fits on it. I never even thought it wouldn't but I have a mountain bike not a road bike.

There is a road race down in St. Pete next month I am trying to convince dh to turn into a family weekend trip. Anyone else doing that race?

I am fighting an even battle between working out enough and eating too much holiday junk so my weight/body tone is not going anywhere - which is better than losing ground I guess. I have increased my mileage on running though. This will sound wimpy, but when I started running regularly this fall, I was able to run 1-2 miles and have to walk the rest or alternate. Now I can run 3 - 4 miles as a workout. I think I am going to incorporate a long run once a week or no less than once every 2 weeks and try to get up to 6-7 miles soon. My pace is still well over 9 min but a lot better than 11 min miles I was running in September!

Merry Christmas!

Sounds like things are going really well for you Dolli, and it's great to see you stopping by! I hope your Christmas morning is filled with glee when you eventually get that bike on it's trainer!!

Have a wonderfully happy holiday season, and hopefully we'll see you in the new year ~IG

11 minute mile on a long run is nothing to be ashamed of!!! That's where you should be slower to keep your HR in check and increase your stamina.

Anyway, its good to see you again & stick around too, cuz I may need your advice for my tri (looks like I'll be doing the one in July rather than the one in May)

Dolli!!!
I wondered where you went. :) I'm glad to see you are still here and doing so very well with your training. Don't worry too much about the swimming I barely do any swimming until about 18 weeks before my A race. LOL I try and average one swim a week notice the use of the word TRY. So far my A race of the season will be an Olympic distance race in June. I may possibly do a sprint in May to prep and I'm definetly doing a Sprint in August. There may be one other race in July (another Oly), or I may just volunteer for that one in GA so that I can meet a good friend of mine from the online tri group I belong to. You are absolutely going to love having a bike trainer and the bike shouldn't be an issue. I've had my Hybrid, Road bike, Mtn BIke and Kids bike on mine with no problems at all.

Merry Christmas
Sabrina
