How many days left in 2004? Not too many....
Have you been reflecting on how this year has gone?
Have you been thinking about what you want in 2005?
Here's a couple of articles I found on 'Resolutions'- (I've only pasted snippets of each)
Tips and Ideas-

A New Year is a new start and can be a good time to assess yourself. What would you like to change?
- Don’t be too ambitious. Don’t set yourself up to fail. Set goals that are reasonable and reachable.
- Look at a resolution as an opportunity to do something exciting and new and not as a task of drudgery.
- Tell others about the resolutions you are making. When we tell others what we plan it increases our motivation to do it.
Excuses or Choices-
http://frugalliving.about.com/cs/moneymatters/a/ucchoicedd.htm
Let's compare the terms "excuse" and "choice":
According to Webster, an excuse is "an explanation offered as a reason for being excused; a plea offered in extenuation of a fault or for release from an obligation, promise, etc."
And a choice is, "the right, power, or opportunity to choose; option"
It's pretty obvious that there is a big difference in the two words yet I think many people confuse the two.
We all do have choices. When we realize that, we hopefully will stop making excuses and start making different choices that will help us get to where we want to go.
Making Resolutions Work-
http://frugalliving.about.com/cs/specialreading/a/123003.htm
You can make a resolution any time, but the new year looms ahead of us like a clean sheet of paper, upon which we have the power to write our successes ahead of time.
Instead of a list of dreams, make ONE decision for ONE main goal for the year. Don't bite off more than you can chew... that only makes daydreams, not resolutions. (But keep the next goal in mind for when you meet the first one!)
Be realistic!
Decide ahead of time whether you'll do better if you tell others or not. Different people feel differently about this, so know what works for you. If telling others makes you want to live up to their expectations, tell them. If it only stresses you, then keep it to yourself.
Ask yourself: "Do I want to be in the same situation at the end of December 2004, that I was in December 2003?" And answer it. Honestly. Then get up and go after it again. You'll find the results are very much worth the effort.
If you feel like sharing your resolutions....please do!
And Good Luck!

Well...the New Year brings some exciting things for me!
I resolve to throw myself at the chip guy like Steffy suggests..>ROFL Just kidding!
Anyhow, I'm going to put myself back on the wagon. Set mini goals of 20 lbs for myself since 80 is just too huge of a number and will only discourage me and make sure that I am measuring every week so that even if I don't lose lbs, I'll lose inches and I can still focus on the positive results.
LITERALLY throw yourself at the chip guy...damaging MANY bags of chips and then offer to 'work off the costs'.
My resolutions (I stopped making them years ago because I stopped sticking to them, but they're worthy this year).
1.
Propose marriage, Steffy, here's to you! Good luck.
As for my new year's goals, I am not finished with my list in detail yet, won't be 'til New Year's Eve probably.
But for starters, as Heather said, "the damn budget" is out of control. I had one organized and written out once in my life. I need to get one in black and white again, and legitimately pay down the debt. Having some money budget for investments for the future would be great too.
As far as my fitness goals, I plan to start something new this year; I've been looking into running. I think that may be it. I would love to take dance, but the cost and scheduling would be a problem. I do need to work on flexibility. It will improve my kicks a great deal, and I will continue to train in hap ki do, as long as I stay injury free, and hope to be preparing to test or have tested for black belt by this time next year.
BTW, any ideas for good stretching techniques and/or working toward doing the splits, would be greatly appreciated.
I have some career oriented goals to work on, but that will be after Christmas, and after I have had some time to think.

~~~Are you hittin' on me???~~~ LOL
where are you again?
Well looks like so far here you ladies have your goals set up! Good job....you're ahead of the game already!!
Heather- you've thought of some great (doable) goals for yourself! Good Luck with getting baby #3 (right?)
Best Wishes for '05
Dee- setting yourself some mini (weight) goals is a great way to go. (Think I'll try that myself). And you make a great point "focus on the positive results" (be they weight/inch....or whatever).
Best Wishes for '05
Steffy- WoW! You're going to have to keep us posted on the proposal!!!
Best (LOVE) Wishes for '05
Lorie- here's to you finding something *new* that you will really enjoy. And as for the wanting to be able to do the splits (I won't ask)....do you do any Yoga? Really helps with flexibility.
Best Wishes for '05
To be quite honest I haven't given much thought to any resolutions...I mean I know what I'd like to achieve (sort of) in 2005- but haven't exactly mapped out how to go about it- yet!
Here's what I have so far....
FINANCIAL- to be more organized!!! I'm dreadful when it comes to money- don't work with a budget (one reason being it's only me) so I need to work on that, for sure.
PERSONAL- to be less critical of myself (and sometimes of others too). To be less paranoid (nothing to worry about here...but sometimes I think too much). Perhaps find some love ;-)
HEALTH- to watch what I eat, and when I eat it! Cut down the number of beers I drink....maybe I should switch drinks, lol!! Kidding! To get back into a groove of formally working out (at least 3 times a week).
That's it, so far- now all that's left is to put it into 'action' ~IG
