Hello all who'll join my new discussion. I have recently read and am beginning the "8 Minutes in the Morning" diet/exercise program and would love to find some more of you out there who'd join me in 8 Minute talks. Sometimes I need a bit of encouragement, ideas and accountablility. I have no other friends to talk with for support. I welcome you all.

Well, the first thing I'd do is get the book. Before I bought the book, I checked it out from the library to see if I even liked it. It really is simple to follow, reading it and following the program. He, Jorge Cruise, has several pages that you can photo copy such as the meal cards where you check off what you've eaten. He also encourages you to eat one treat a day so you don't feel deprived. Saying you can never have something ever again only makes you want it more.
I'm excited you want to join! Let me know when you've read it and if you have further questions, let me know!

I just looked at my library and they have 8 Minutes in the Morning. I think I'll give it a look. Thanks for mentioning it.

Also, look for Jorge's other books called 8 Minutes in the Morning:
...to a Flat Belly
...for Real Shapes, Real Sizes (for people needing to loose 30 lbs or more)
...Extra-Easy Weight Loss (uses no equipment)
...Lean Hips and Thin Thighs
and the new one to be out in January is "3-Hour Diet"

I've read the first two listed plus the original book. They all have something new to add and are worth checking out. I'm from a small town and my library had to borrow them from another location.

I tried doing a search for Jorge on ivillage a few days ago but came up with nothing. His webisite is www.jorgecruise.com. They have a support group on their site but it costs either $3 or $12 per week to join. Since money has always been an issue, I decided to start this one here.

I'm proud today! I ate well yesterday and have exercised 3 days in the morning this week! Yahoo!!! I'm on the right track! Who's chugging down this track with me?!

My goal this week is to loose 2 pounds. I decided that this would be good for me because it gives me a focus, a target.

I didn't exercise this morning. My son, who had his toncills (sp?) taken out last week, has awakened me every night the last 4 nights, crying in pain. He has his checkup today, so I hope that something can be done for him. I had a really hard time getting to sleep and as soon as I did, he awakened me. I guess I need to just say "sleep or no sleep, I'm getting up to exercise". My body doesn't like the sound of it, but maybe this will work better.

Thak you for the link to the exercises. This is encouraging because these are the types of exercises I am most inclined to stick with (as opposed to aerobics or stepping or Richard Simmons...all of which I tried and gave up on early on). Elle

Hi,
Just getting myself ready to start a diet program and decided to join Ivillage.
I believe that all get results can happen when you have the right support.
I quit smoking over 4 months ago and gained 25lbs now its time to start taking it off.
My 40th year is this coming june and I would like to look as good as I feel.
I'm interested in becoming a part of your group, my work schedule is extremely hectic and 8 minutes sounded wonderful.
I'm not a 100% sure how this chat room works but looking forward to giving it a try.
