Hi, ev1, i'm a 35 mom of 3 girls: ages, 6, 4 and 11 months old. Dh is a police officer on midnights, and I also run a daycare inhome(off this week), so I'm busy, but am starting to lose this extra 25-30 lbs. on Monday, Just popping in for inspiration, advice etc. I plan on eating healthy, exercising, and getting rid of all the junk food in this house, although i'm not big on it, but when around I tend to pick, so any advice I appreciate, and nice to meet ev1=).......

Nice to meet you! I'll be anxious to hear how your will fit in exercise being so busy. I have 4 kids one of which is only 16 months old and feel so overwhelmed and finding time to take care of myself seems hard to do.

Hi Leigh,
Welcome. This is a good board, fun people with a lot of good ideas and experience. I'm glad you decided to start exercising. I am single well, dating BF for about four years. I still have my own place so I gues that's why I say "single."

I work full time for a newspaper, but my other "commitment" is to my martial arts training so exercise is not a problem for me.

When I spend time with my sis, I do wonder how moms get everything done in a day. My mom still has two kids at home, but those two are 12 and 14, my adopted sisters. My biological sister's kids are 4 and 6, so they keep her busy.

I hope you find the time to start an exercise program. I am sure it can be done.

I too plan to get back to eating better. I need to add still more fresh fruits and veggies to my diet. I got a steamer from mom and dad for Christmas. Looking forward to cooking with that.

Keep us posted with your progess.

Hi, and Welcome!!!

You will find this a great board- the ladies here are all very supportive of each other! And it's a laid back fun place at the same time.

Enjoy this week off; a good time to start incorporating some exercise into your day...so that by next week you'll be familiar with doing something. Maybe try and do it at a certain time in your day this week, a time you'll be able to do when you have your daycare open too!

And good luck getting rid of all the 'junk' food!

Once again, Welcome
~IslandGirl

Hi there! I'm also a married mom of three. Mine are 10 (yesterday), 7 1/2 and 6 1/2. I've found that exercising in the morning before the kids wake up works best for me. In the evenings there's too much demanding of my time. Plus, the elevation of your metabolism to burn calories is 15x higher and 15 hours longer throughout the day when you exercise in the morning as opposed to 2x higher and 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the evening. Exercise seems like such a pain before you get started, but feels so worth it after your done. Eventhough you don't see immediate results, you just feel like you look sexier!
Hope this helps,
Ginger

Geez thanks for the Welcome ev1, your all so great, i will be popping in to say hello here and there. i plan on having "ME" time after the daycare kids leave for the day to workout. that seems to be the only time besides when my kids go to bed, which isn't too late(7:30) for the school girls) but the babys around 8:30, so I think that'll be too late, I'll be tired by then. so dh plans to bring them upstairs or in the kitchen to do things while he prepares dinner. Hes a great help around here, so i can fit in exercise. i'd love to get into running, but here in NY winters are brutal and we don't have a treadmill, so for now my dvds are my friend....thanks again ev1.Leigh
