Special K Diet?

I keep seeing the ads. And I'm like, would that really help you lose 6lbs in 2 weeks? I could really use the weight loss for now. My pants are so uncomfortably tight. and I know if I work out, I'll "buff up" a bit first. Then for sure my pants won't fit.

Your thoughts?

Cher, I think that the special K diet probably is quite reasonable, and they don't tell you you're going to lose an unrealistic amount of weight, so why not give it a try!

I bet it would work and it doesn't sound bad, health-wise.

I just don't think I could survive eating just cereal twice a day, I know when I eat cereal for breakfast I am starving by 9 am....

But it's worth a shot.

I havent looked at the SK diet, but it depends on how much your eating now. I reduced my calories from about 2500 (I know, I know) to 1200 and my fat from probably 40+ to 20-25 and lost a good amount the first week, but it will be a lot less from now on (2lbs a week Im shooting for). So if your already only eating that much, don't expect a big loss. What is the loss/size rule of thumb?...If you can get into the clothes but they are tight 5 lbs will make them comfy...10 lbs is a size down?

I do know from calorie counting that Special K is about 110 calories per serving & has quite a bit in vitamins.

Thanks everyone. I figure, as a "kick start" this could be good. I think I will vary my meals, but keep them down low. Like, instead of Special K twice a day, maybe once a day, with my second meal being something low cal. Like more cereal, or a salad, or protein shake.

And yes, to whomever said 5lbs would make my clothes loose. cuz 5lbs is what made them tight. lol.

and if i can lose up to 6lbs in two weeks, at least i'll be 100x more comfy. i think i'll give it a try. if i remmeber, i'll keep you guys updated on how much i lose. damn, that means i have to get on the scale. lol. i don't wanna. waaahhhh! hehehe.

There is nothing magical about it. A bowl of Special K and a piece of fruit doesn't provide nearly enough calories for a full meal for the average person. If you cut calories drastically, you will lose weight. It doesn't mean it's good for you. I lost 40 pounds by exercising regularly and avoiding processed/fried/fast food.

There is no magical number. You can go down a dress size without losing any actual pounds, just by replacing fat with muscle (i.e. weight training), because a pound of muscle takes up a lot less space (and burns more calories) than a pound of fat.
