I have heard this and that about it. Anyone done a colon cleansing? I would do one that doesn't become a big pain in the "rear", ya know...lol?

I've definitely heard of them, and know my sister was interested in trying one.

There are herbal, liquid and hydro colon cleansings. I've done the herbal and liquid and have been rather pleased with the results, however, there's no substitute for the hydro. I called the local hydro cleansing technician and asked some questions. Here's some of the things she said:

1. in Texas, and many other states, medical legislators have made it law that you have to get a "recommendation" from your regular doctor to get one. I can't just make an appointment with her anymore without going through my PCP.
2. It's definitley more expensive but has more advantages. She said that you can do just 4 sessions over 2 weeks but the optimal would be 12 sessions over several weeks. The 12 sessions ends up being less expensive per session but totals about $500.
3. No eating fiber or roughage of any kind, including all types of beans, while going through the first two weeks. It causes excess gas that can be painful.
4. the cleansing itself isn't painful, it just feels like you're having an extended bowl movement.
5. she runs a fan during the process to draw out the odor.
6. there's two tubes, one for hydrating the colon and one to lightly draw out the waste water.

Hydro has quicker results and does a more thorough job.

My Nutitionist told me about another one of her clients that did it and had great success. She had been doing sit ups, crunches and many other abdominal work and couldn't get rid of that last bit of belly pooch. Lorrie suggested the hydro cleanse and it worked. Our colons have more waste sediment than we'd like to admit and it causes our belly's to pooch out.

Hope this helps,
Ginger

I was looking at something called NutriCleanse (??) or NatraCleanse (??) don't really remember right this second. You don't have to fast for it, but I guess alot of them you do.

Ok, ladies, some food for thought! If colon cleansing grosses you out, you need to consider a few things. First and most importantly, how many of us have heard of people or have had loved ones diagnosted with colon cancer? It's because their colons were filled with deadly toxins that were never cleaned out. I've had one Pastor die of it and my current Pastor was diagnosted with it 2 years ago. He is currently going to a doctor who specializes in nutrition and is doing well, but it's been a long a tough road for him and his family. Another thing is: why do you clean out your toilets? If it's flushing down the waste, why bother cleaning it? Wouldn't the flushing be sufficient? Obviously not or else we wouldn't have mold growth etc. A garbage can...think about it this way. What would happen if you kept putting trash and food scraps in the can but never put it out by the curb for the garbage men to dump, or what if you didn't take it out often enough? The smell would be horrid! Also, there's no plastic garbage sack in our colon to keep the can from being contaminated which leads to toxin/bacteria growth. Just a bit of Biology 101 for those who are interested. In our colon, there are micro villi (sp?) that are like fingers that move the waste through to be expelled. When the waste isn't sufficiently cleansed from time to time, it gets bulky and has to go somewhere so it is squeezed inbetween these villi, which are normally close together, creating a space between them and therefore causing a strain and a weakness in the lining of the colon wall. When the wall gets too thin, it allows the toxins, that should have been expelled, to escape into the circulatory system which spreads the toxins throughout the body. Did you also know why 98% of women that get breast cancer get it in their left breast? The colon is toxic. And that is strait from Dr. Sandra Mullet in Spring, TX if you'd like to contact her.
I don't want to be so strait forward about this and I appologize if I've offended anyone, but I'm passionate about health issues and believe that if everyone has the right to know what's really going on so that they can decide for themselves what they want to do with the information. One of my sayings is "Ignorance isn't bliss if it could mean death."
