Well, first of all let me say I'm extremely nervous...1) because I've never been in a chat room before and 2)because I'm 30 minutes away from my first session w/ a personal trainer. (Pretty inexpensive thru my local hospital) I've finally run out of excuses and seem to be waking up from a very blissful (if inacurate) state of denial. Anyway, I wanted to say hello to all and introduce myself to the members. Your stories are inspirational and I'm looking forward to the information, encouragement and occasional kick in the pants that may be neccessary on this journey. 3 lbs down...87 to go. UGH!

My best to all,

Thanks to everyone for their responses. This is really cool...

First session went better than expected in some ways...the trainer was great. She really made me feel comforatable and walked me thru my program which included cardio and weights. And yes, dear Lord, am I sore!! But it feels good to have a plan. Yesterday, I worked out on my own. When I get stuck, I'll schedule another session w/ the trainer. The plan is cardio 5 days per week, plus abs. Weights 3x/week. Agressive, so I hope to stick w/ it. I loved something I read here the other day (sorry I can't remember who posted it)..."I can't control whether or not I lose weight. What I can control is what I do and what I eat." (paraphrased) I'm adopting this as my new mantra. Anyway, thanks again for the welcome and encouragement. I'm truly looking forward to getting to know everyone better. I hope you all have a great weekend.
