Should I really eat breakfast?

Hi everybody,

I usually avoid breakfast because 1) I am not really hungry at all in the morning. 2) I try to save up my calories for later in the day (which is ridiculous).

I've decided I should try eating Quaker Instant Oatmeal (130 cal. in a pack) each morning because I figure it would be good for me and also because my body probably needs *something* in the morning. It tastes good to me too.

Any thoughts and/or advice is appreciated.

Thank you!

By eating you get your metabolism going. Try getting the low sugar quaker instant oatmeal it's as good as the regular but less sugar.
Oatmeal is a great breakfast food.

Breakfast is important. Statistic wise people who eat breakfast tend to not overeat throughout the day.

Definitely make sure you eat something, even if it is something small. Even if you are not hungry. Going too long between meals increases cravings and lowers your metabolism.

Check this out, maybe it will give you some ideas:

Great. thanks. I like the oatmeal so at a minimum I'll do that and it is low in calories so I can handle it mentally. Even yogurt. I think it is a good idea because I won't be so hungry later in the day.

That's a good idea. Thank you. I visited the Quaker Oatmeal site and I think I'll try the lower sugar Maple & Brown Sugar. The Nutrition for Women oatmeal packets look good too. It's amazing how something that tastes so good can be low in calories. I think the oatmeal is great.

Yes, yes and yes! Even if it's something small!! A good suggestion if you're not that hungry early in the morning is to have something small (banana, yogurt) and water....to start the day off. When you're a little more peckish later on have something ready to eat....like the oatmeal.

Eating breakfast WILL help you for the rest of the day; believe me- I once was a breakfast skipper too (for the same reasons as yourself) and saw a big difference in my days when I changed my habits.

Good Luck-
