? about Tracking on Fitday!

Ok, typically, I make or bring a salad to work for lunch. Do I need to enter each individual item? Like lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, beets, etc? And what is the best way to guesstimate if I am making this at work? Anyone have any advice? I guess the best thing is to prepare it at home where I can measure everything. I tried to customize a salad that I always make but no luck!

Also, looking for ideas on stationary cardio!! I am gearing up to try 8 min in the am but also need to get my heart moving for my blood pressure but have no space! And, I will be doing this after the kids go to bed so noise is also an issue. Jump roping is starting to wear on my knees!!

Thank you ladies!!!

Well I used Fitday for a while, and when I had to enter in something I made I did find it quite tedious. Sometimes I looked for something 'similar' and adjusted the portions to make up 'lost' calories....does that make sense? When I had the time I did enter in everything- their database seems to have most things.

As for the stationary cardio- I like workout tapes for home. One that I enjoy is Leslie Sansone (Walk Away the Pounds) you only need the space in front of your TV (and a couple of feet either side of you). The moves are pretty simple and you can choose from a 20 minute one mile tape to a 50 minute 4 mile tape. Check them out here- www.lesliesansone.com

First of all for Fitday:

When it comes to salads, I usually look for what they've got going for green salad.

Ok, I may be crazy but I went to her website and I think that this may actually work for me!! <> I ordered the system she has - I liked that there was variety, the workouts are short and I can fit the ramp in front of my tv. Plus is was a better value than the Ramp thing by Gin Miller. I am so excited. It is going to be a long two weeks. I probably should have started out with just a tape but this seemed perfect so I went for it. Anything that gets me moving is good, right?

Thank you for the link!

Honestly when it comes to veggies like lettuce and tomatoes you are talking about measly calories. I think 2 cups of lettuce is like 10 calories at most. So if you are doing at work, just guesstimate. I mean If you ate half a tomatoe, it will say "whole large tomato" and just put .50 on it since you only ate half.

I do the 2 mile walk of Leslie Sansone in the morning (somehow my 3 mile walk has disappeared into thin air) and in the afternoon I do ramp it up off the slim in 6 program. Don't need a lot of room for them and you burn good calories.
