how to reduce muscle soreness?

I was wondering how to reduce muscle soreness after doing long and intense weight training.... I heard that drinking a glass of milk directly afterwards somehow flushes the acids out that are involved in the soreness. Does that work for any of you? Any other tips?

Thanks,

to the OP.

I was told by two different trainers NOT to stretch out before doing any exercises. When the muscles are cold, you're more likely to rip/tear them. Which means soreness. Instead, walk on a treadmill, or do jumping jacks for like 5 mins to get your muscles warmed up, THEN do a full stretch program, then do your cardio/weights, THEN stretch again. I was told by one trainer NOT to stretch out my muscles DURING my weight training.

Just passing on what they said, have no idea how good it is or isn't.
