Loss of energy while working out
| Tue, 02-01-2005 - 1:41pm |
I have been working out regularly since beginning of November (3-5 times per week) doing a combination of aerobics & stregnth training with my workout lasting an hour. I go in the morning after I drop my daughter off at school and I eat a hot cereal breakfast (either real oatmeal or other whole wheat hot cereal) before I go. However, for about the past week & a half, I feel like I am running out of steam early in my workout & have to thumb down the intensity a bit. Does anybody have any ideas as to why this might happen after I have been doing fine keeping up a good pace?

Hum......this one makes me think a couple of things-
i) are you getting bored with your routine?
ii) might you be coming down with something?
iii) are you drinking enough water?
iv) are you eating enough to sustain the energy you need?
Just some thoughts to think of....let us know how the rest of the week goes-

Hey Julie, I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have some suggestions:
How high is your daily calorie count?
Protein also. I had a doctor tell me to have protein in the morning with breakfast. The oatmeal for complex carbs is great, just add some turkey bacon, 2 eggs, etc. It'll really get your day off to a great start.
Is there any chance your thyroid is low?
I hate to ask, but everytime I'd complain about being tired I'd get asked if I was pregnant! LOL But, if your a woman, it's possible!
