My short term mini goal weight is 160. My GOAL weight is 140.
Is rice a good carb or bad carb?
Also, I'm not a big red meat fan, how else besides eggs can I get more protein into my meals?

Okay, I think I've got some answers/suggestions:
Can someone figure out how many calories I should be eating a day to lose weight?
Can someone figure out how many calories I should be eating a day to lose weight?
By my calculations you should probably be eating between 1285 and 1785 calories per day to lose from 1 to 2 pounds per week.
I calculated your basal metabolic rate and used the calculations for someone who is lightly active and ended up with 2283.6. That's how many calories you burn on an average day. Then you just subtract 500 to 1000 calories per day to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week.
Ok I'm lost. I did the formula and came up with 1837, reduced it by 20% and got 1470. Now what does 1470 mean? The quiz told me a 1400-1600 calorie per day diet and I'll lose 1-2 lbs per week. Same as you came up with. But what is the 1470 for then?
Can you recalculate my metabolic rate as someone less than lightly active? I am stuck at a desk from 8am - 9pm every day so I get no exercise besides getting up to take care of the baby.
There's no way I burn 2283 calories per day on average. I eat 1400-1600 calories per day and haven't been losing weight? Can you help more? Thanks so much

I will tell you when I first found this formula, I could do it three times and come up with three answers.
Can I post this link? It also states this comparing it to a person who stays in bed all day.

Okie-dokey ladies, because I love this kind of thing, I've made a little excel file that allows you to input your height and weight and it will give you your basal metabolic rate, and your active metabolic rate, as well as calculate how many calories you should be eating to lose weight.
If you would like me to sent it to you, just email me at miranda_d@shaw.ca.
