I joined a gym

Well I finally decided to join a gym. It had been a few years (and um...60 pounds) since I was last at one. I just felt like my using my elliptical and my pilates videos half heartedly really wasn't going to do me a whole lot of good.
So I went into Gold's Gym today and took a tour. I don't know what I expected before I got there-I guess a bunch of major weight lifters with muscles out to HERE-which had made me a bit apprehensive. However, it was great. An extremely nice facility with a separate women's section even. Plus, you have 6 appointments with your personal trainer within the first month. They do measurements, find out your goals, do a nutrition analysis, develop a workout for you, monitor you, and then in 30 days you are remeasured and weighed. Then obviously if you want a personal trainer after that you can purchase additional sessions.
They have four separate classes also. Ab-cycling, Body Pump (Weights/aerobics), Body Step (A step class), and Body Flow (Combination pilates/yoga, tai chi).
I have my first consultation tomorrow morning.
I think this is really going to help me stay on track and keep motivated. It is a year long membership, so if they are going to be deducting that money from my account every month I am going to make sure that I don't slack off.
Another nice thing is that my SO Jon can join for $16 per month. My 14 year old twins can come with me for free until they are 16 and after that it is only $12 for the first and the other one is free.

Congratulations Crystal! I'm sure you'll find all those consultations really valuable- let us know how tomorrow goes!

That sounds awesome!!!
Can't wait to hear about the trainer sessions and all the successes you have soon!
It's a great investment into you!!
Well I have completed my first two sessions and I am sore. Definitely using muscles that have been in hibernation for quite awhile.
I did feel really good afterwards and I am very satisfied with myself for doing this, but it shows me I have a long way to go.
Like I said though I am excited about this and I know that it is going to become a regular part of my life again like it used to be!
Yaaayyyyyyy!!!!
