Do you measure it not held in at all? I always hold my stomach in slightly all day long...so should I measure it that way?

Hi Kim,

When I do it, I make sure I stand up straight with my shoulders back and my butt tucked in slightly and my stomach pulled in, but not sucked in. Basically stand with proper posture and then measure.

To me, I'd feel like I was cheating if I held in my stomach at all. I measure standing with my belly at it's natural resting state, at the natural waist line and then around the largest part (bellow the belly button) where my 3 pregnancies were.

That's a good point....I measure at the belly button, but right above and below it sticks out more (above belly button is a mass of stretch marks..makes the skin all poofy there...sounds pretty, huh? lol). I keep an eye on that belly fat below the belly button. I can tell it's shrinking. It's just on the verge of not "lapping" over the csection scars (had three). I might start measuring that too then.

If you measure below your belly button, you're actually measuring your hips.

Don't suck in your stomach when you measure. If you stand with proper posture, your stomach will pull in naturally, but not so much that it's artificial.

Aren't stretch marks and c-sections a nag? I've had 3 of them and if I ever won the lottery, the first thing I'd do is a tummy tuck.

I always thought that you could get a tummy tuck after they deliver the baby, while you're still opened?

Exactly! I actually asked if they could do it while I was on the table and the Dr. chuckled. Seriously, they should be licensed in Plastic Surgery. Kill 2 birds with one stone. LOL.
