I always plan a vacation in the winter to somewhere sunny. Usually Florida, and usually end of February or sometime in March. This year though my Florida trip came at Christmas so I am hitting a tanning salon (only 5 or 10 minutes once a week) and we are going to the Mall of America in MN the end of March. Technically the weather there is worse than in MI but I have never been and am still looking forward to it. The idea of having all those places to shop is also helping motivate me to lose weight!!

I make sure I keeps exercising because, as we know, it helps keep my energy up. I usually look forward to my workouts, but it has been tough lately; I've been so down. I do feel better after I do it though. And I make myself go to HKD class, that way I can be with other people who are tired of winter. During stretches last night, the black belt said, "Just think, in a few months it will be a nice spring day. The doors will be open and a nice breeze will be blowing through the dojo...."

I found a dress I want for Easter Sunday in a spring/summer catelog. I've been looking at spring clothing a bit more than I usually do. All of those nice, light fabrics give me some hope for better weather, and encourage me even more to exercise so I can get into some cute shorts.

I am usually planning our summer trip about this time too. Our family, my sis and her kids (BIL usually doesn't join us, yaaaaaay, sorry not nice) my parents and my younger sisters and I, get together to camp on one of the Great Lakes for about a week each year. That is so much fun because I have something to look forward to, but this year they haven't told me where or when yet.

It shouldn't be long now, ladies. I hope.

I think of the flowers that will soon be coming up. My yellow and white crocus (crocuses?) are already blooming, and my daffodils and purple hycinths are coming up but not ready to bloom. Pretty soon my red tulips will be ready to poke up out of the ground, and my rose bushes (white, red, and yellow ones) will soon start showing their leaves. The tree in my yard will start blooming too - it's a little strange. It blooms pink on one side and white
on the other (it's a grafted peach/nectarine tree).

If the day is any kind of warm at all (like above 50 F) I will open the door for a while and let some fresh air in - even if it is a bit chilly!

I feel the same way. I want spring to be here already. I feel like we've been teased, because we have had a few record high spring like temps the past month or so...only to have it return to super cold. Most of all, I'm ready for our backyard to dry out so the kids can play on it without it being all wet and soggy. I hope it gets here soon. I have no idea how to overcome the blahs....other than to make lots of plans for spring. I know we are going to do a lot of walking as a family...and picnics...and putt putt...and grilling out...and yard work... *sigh* I wish it would get here already. :(

I like to open the shades to let as much light in as possible. We just had our front yard redone in September and we have some planting to do. I plan on getting seed catalogs and other plant catalogs and start planning.

I'm so jealous of anyone south of Jersey. The forcast for the next 10 days here in NH has the highest temp at 42 on one day only. The rest range from 17-32 degrees. This is into March!

Every morning I wake up to a new inch of snow. Spring get here soon!!!!!!!!

Well, our winter has been so mild here in MT that I am thinking the worst is yet to come. It has been unseasonably warm here and we only had three weeks of snow all winter. But I do hope it will be over with soon because these warm temps have gotten me going on exercising and walking. To get into the spring mood I started going tanning once a week and I buy those potted tulips. They make me think of spring and they look real good on my table if my cats don't eat their heads off.
I have also started to do a little organizing and spring cleaning. We have rearranged the furniture and gotten new curtains. Makes a big difference. But the biggest thing that keeps me going every day is the thought of getting the boat out on the lake and going camping this summer.

What do you do to beat the winter blahs??? Come on, tell us!!

Keep busy. I find that if I have enough to do I don't have time to feel yucky. LOL
