I hate my tummy!
| Fri, 02-25-2005 - 9:02pm |
I have two kids, the last one is 1.5. I work hard on my stomach and cannot get my stomach down. I hate it, it has Stretch marks and the skin is lose. I can't have it removed because I keloid when I get cut and I would hate to have a huge scar on my tummy.
What do I do? I Hate it...

Hi Jewel- and welcome to the 30's board!
A couple of weeks ago cl-Miranda posted about 'baby belly' exercises. Here's the link for that post: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-fbfitthirty&msg=8861.1&ctx=128

Welcome Jewel :o)
I'm going to give you an completely honest answer but you may not like it. TIME AND WORK. It will not happen overnight and depending on the damage may take years to get it where you want it. I had multiples 9 years ago. My tummy after 2 years of Triathlon training is finally back to where it was before I had kids in size and shape. In another year the skin should be totally firmed as well. Every year the stretch marks get less and less visible. I have been working out pretty consistently since the boys were 2, loosing a bunch of weight from having babies and eating well for a long time. It may not take you as long to see results as 1) every person is different, and 2) since I had two multiple pregnancies back to back I had more stretching and muscle damage then most. My sternum didn't return to it's proper location until the boys were 3 or 4. Anyway... please don't let what I just said discourage you. Look at it as a challenge. Every cell in your body gets renewed yearly. By this time next year if you work at it your body will be better then it is this year. I know we all want a quick fix but honestly the ones we work hardest for are the ones that last.
