Favorite clothing lines?

I have been spending some time thinking about what I'm going to buy when I'm thin this summer. I was wondering if anyone wanted to share some of their favorite catalog sites/stores...or even some of your "inspirational" peices (for example, I want to be able to buy some cute capris this year). I want to find some great peices that I will order when I get to my goal weight. I would appreciate any suggestions!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had the Victoria's Secret experience. although I am aware that my size has gone up now, I was always right about my size when I order from them once and was surprised to find that there was no way I was getting my rear in those pants.

I had been wearing medium forever when I ordered a medium pair of pants from their sportswear line. I love those pants with the stripe up the side; these were white with the black stripe and had snaps instead of the side zipper in the leg that some athletic pants have. I had to give them to my teenage sister.

Oddly enough, I ordered a set from them around that time, in a large this time. The shirt was nearly too big, even though I lift weights often my shoulders are slim, but the shorts were way short. They fit, but they were some short shorts! Maybe they were supposed to be that way, but they didn't look quite that short on the model.

I do like VS's stuff. It's a bit expensive for me, but a lot of it is cute.

I'm a big fan of Ann Taylor Loft. Similar styles to the regular Ann Taylor at lower prices. If you buy at the end of the season you can get some great deals on markdowns too.

It's a store, www.anntaylorloft.com . We have them in a few shopping malls. It's basically the outlet version of Ann Taylor. Great for work or going out. I buy most of my suits and dresses here.

Well, I have been living off the Walmart specials for the past few years. There just doesn't seem to be much money left once I shop for everyone else. Besides I have never been able to pay $60 for a pair of jeans. And I am a jeans and T-shirt gal all the time. But I have been eyeing some things in the mall lately. Just want to wait a bit longer until I am at a comfortable weight .

I love VS stuff but it's very disappointing to order something and then you get it and the sizes aren't true sizes! It's a hassle to send it back and all that. Around here they don't stock their clothes in the stores you can only get them online. Really cute stuff but it's guess work about the sizes. Fredericks of Hollywood has some very nice stuff. I never thought I would buy stuff from there because I thought they only sold sleazy stuff but if you look they have some nice things as well but small like VS. Not as well made as VS though. I like shopping at Nordstrom, Macy's, and Lerner Newyork. Now that I am a bit older I tend to buy fewer clothes that are more well made because I tend to keep the same stuff for years. I know it's silly, but I am also paranoid of people thinking because I am a mom that I can't be stylish or that I can't look polished so I probably overcompensate in my clothing choice.

I was in a Lerner NewYork when I was in college in FL. I had a few friends from NY. They went into one in the mall, and one of them bought the nicest long skirt and top set I had seen in a long time. We don't have any around here, but I wonder now if I saw or got a catelog from them? I think it was them.

Anyway, I am basically a JC Penny fan as far as work clothes, and jeans. I know what size Lee jeans to buy and they lasted through a grueling two years of work in a press room once a week and the weekly washing that followed my Wednesdays in the press room. And the pairs I didn't wear to work on Wed have lasted a long time.

I like Champion for athletic wear, but they're kind of pricey. I try to find them online at locations other than from them directly.

I too really look for clothes that will last, jeans, workout clothes even good suits, but I hate paying full price for stuff.

Our nearest outlet stores are 2 hours away! When I use to live California it was just 30 minutes away. It's amazing you can get the exact same stuff for more than half price off. If you have something close to home it's the way to go. I use to shop Hanes, Fila, and Champion at the outlet stores. I tend to shop the sales in the malls too. I try to limit going until I know there is a store wide sale or I will get too tempted to buy things full price. I don't know too much about workout wear. I have never really been one to wear it casually but I am really starting to get into it. It's much more comfortable than regular clothes but it doesn't give the same impression as "Mom in ratty sweats". I have ordered some new fitness magazines and I try to pay attention to what the models wear and so forth. I usually end up with Nike or adidas because that is what they normally carry in the mall. I tend to really like the athletic stuff that is made with the same material and designed really sporty almost as if a man could wear it, but in a feminine color like purple, peach, or pink. Like the cute cropped running shorts you see people wear but in soft purple instead of gray. It's really hard to find those styles with those colors though.
