We are doing alot of projects around the house. I think it's great exercise. My arms get quite the workout from sanding and painting. Raking leaves and pulling weeds work out your back, legs and arms.

Even housework can be a workout. I swear I get winded carrying the laundry basket up 2 flights of stairs.

I think that's how I keep my arms looking good...housework! I just painted the boys' room and the kitchen and then I'm finishing up my daughter's room tonight. Major shoulder work! I know it's the housework because I've hardly lifted a weight in exercising the last month! LOL

I agree too. I should get a pedometer thing to measure my steps in our house. I'm constantly walking back and forth from the laundry room to the bedrooms and scrubbing makes me arms sore. I just painted a room and that was killer on my back and arms and shoulders...we had to paint everything..walls, ceiling, trim, molding, etc. I also like to stop and do leg extensions and things in the middle of chores. I have always enjoyed stretching and sort of ballet like movements I guess. Too bad I never took ballett...too old now!

I spent 2 hours in the squatting position weeding last Saturday and up until last night my butt and thighs were still aching! It was worse than when I am on the eliptical for an hour. I agree about the housework and projects plus it keeps you from boredom-eating (my personal weakness). We did a lot of add-ons and upgrades to our house last summer but the landscaping part was left to do this summer. So I will be landscaping around our new covered deck and workshop to beautify the place. We haven't even started painting the inside of our house--it's 2 years old now and I have been dying to wall-paper and paint.
