high carb fruits and veggies

hey gang...
I am working on getting the whole carb/fat/protein percentage thing down. I'm not doing too bad but I keep getting slammed by fruits and veggies that are high in carbs when I don't realize it. I just got a bag of unsalted trail mix from the vending machine thinking I'm doing pretty good. Its all nuts and raisins. Then I see it has 13g of carbs. Then I realize 'ah it must be the raisins'.
Are there high carb fruits and veggies you guys stay away from?
Also, can someone suggest how you eat more protein without getting all the fat?
I can only eat so much chicken. And beans are starting to keep my friends away X:)

I know that some fruits and
Thats what I always thought too 'they are fruits and veggies so its ok' but then I pop raisins into fitday and for one small box there is 34g of carbs. Granted there is 1g fiber but for one of those small boxes thats a lot of carbs to consume. At least with a cup of carrots its 11g of carbs with 3g's of fiber so it isn't so lopsided.
I have never given too much creed to the whole low carb diet trend so this stuff just never seemed important until I started trying to keep track of it.

Personally I don't shy away from ANY fruits or vegetables, they are just sooo good for you and I really don't see the harm in those carbs. Actually about 50% of my daily calories come form carbs-mostly from fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
My question for you though is: What percentage of carbs/protein/fat are you aiming for?
I am not a soy person at all so for my lean protein I focus on fish, chicken, turkey breast, nonfat & lowfat cheeses and other dairy products, and Egg Beaters. The Egg Beaters have an excellent source of protein and no fat, they are also really good.

Lean proteins - Smuckers natural peanut butter, All nuts without added sugar or honey, black beans, blackeye peas, butter beans, cannellini, chickpease, green split peas, kidney beans, lentils, navy beans, pink beans, soybeans, wax beans, fish and seafood (alaskan pollack, blue crab, carp, catfish, clams, cod, crawfish, dolphin, dungeness crab, eel, grouper, haddock, halibut, herring, king crab, lobster, mahi-mahi, monkfish, mussels, orange roughy, oysters, perch, pike, pompano, redfish, salmon, scallops, shrimp, snails, snapper, snow crab, sole, tilapia, trout, tuna and whitefish), canadian bacon, veal, venison, lamb, chicken breast, turkey...stay away from cuts of beef and lamb containing marbled fat, baked beans, pork and beans, cold cuts with dextrose added and fatty bacon
Low glycemic fruits - Apples, apricots, avocados, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, canteloupe, fresh cherries, dates, fresh figs (only fresh), grapefruits, grapes, honeydew, kiwis, lemons, mandarin oranges, melons, nectarines, oranges, peaches, pears, persimmons, plums, pomegranates, raspberries, strawberries, tangerines...try to stay away from bananas, pineapples, raisins and watermelon they have the highest glycemic index number
Low glycemic veggies - articokes, arugula, asparagus, bean sprouts, bell pepper, bok choy, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, eggplant, endive, leeks, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, okra, onion (white, red, yellow) peas, pumpkin, radicchio, radishes, sauerkraut, snow peas, spinach yello, butternut, spaghetti and acorn squash, string beans, sweet potatoes (in moderation) tofu, tomatoes, turnip greens, watercress, zucchini ...try to stay away from beets, carrots, corn, parsnips, potatoes and turnips they have highest glycemic index number
Try to stay away from anything with enriched flour, any breads that have sugards added (including corn syrup, molasses) or are not stone ground whole grain breads, the first ingredient should always be whole wheat flour in good whole wheat bread, Hodgson mills makes the best tasting whole wheat pasta and it is whole wheat, princes version is actually a blend of white flour and wheat flour, tastes good but it's a higher glycemic, the real whole wheat will take longer to break down .Stay away from any cereals with more than 3 grams sugar per serving, stay away from rice or corn based ceareals such as cornflakes or puffed rice

LOL Well I have to tell you one of the best books I've ever read is sugar busters and the yeast book. I know I have a yeast problem. I used to get chronic yeast infections, anytime I had sex, right before my period, anytime I had any imbalance in my vaginal area (bath with bubbles, pap smear) anything to disrupt the normal PH. So I started taking acidipholus 4 years ago and I haven't had a yeast infection in 4 years. Not a one. So it occured to me, if I had a yeast problem, there I bet I have a candida problem elsewhere, I know when I am eating clean (least amount of white flour, low sugar etc) I feel great, my energy is up, I'm not bloated etc.
So I try, I know how good pasta is, but if I eat too much, I am hurting...so I have read a lot, so I like to share what I know. One of the best things is to buy the sugar busters shopping guide, it's small enough for a purse and it lists the fruits and veggies and dairy, snackstuff, anything you'd come across at the grocery store and tells you good and bad of it.
I just picked the basics on the list to share with her.
