I have heard that the reason women crave chocolate is a drop in their magnesium level. Bananas are an excellent source of magnesium - maybe you could try eating a banana - dipped in Hershey's syrup (just kidding). A really good chocolate fix though - that has no carbs and very few calories and fat is get some lite cool whip, add a little bit of hershey's baking chocolate (you know the powder in a can with no taste) and a touch of vanilla. It is very chocolatey and rich, it will satisfy any chocolate need in just a few bites.

Yup, it is way hard to control my appetite right before that T.O.M. I came up with a psychological game for myself though. Thankfully my BCP's tell me when the game is about to begin so I can plan ahead X:)

I try to get together with girl friends and have either a nice lunch or dinner that includes a desert that we all like. This way we share it and its not me sitting in my home sucking back everything I've been craving for a week. Since I'm with friends, I'm eating slower and getting full faster. I step up exersicing more before and after too so I can enjoy the time time and not feel guilty. This is the best plan I can come up with that gives me something to look forward to.

And if I'm dying for a chocolate bar during the day, I put on my walkman and go for a walk. If I still want chocolate when I get back, I'll have as much of the bar that the walking just burned off in calories.

I hope this helps a bit.

I don't normally crave anything 'real' bad- maybe chocolate, and that one creeps up on me. When it happens I buy something in those minuture bags, take one (three max) out and toss the rest in the freezer. That way they can't really become a 'quick' fix!

I also really like Kim's idea for cafe mocha (in

I'm with Miranda and Steffy on this one. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot that I can do to control my cravings. Something I have started though is knitting, because it takes concentration from me, since I'm a beginner and it means my hands are busy so they're not putting food in my mouth. But I have yet to try it during TOM, so we'll see if it works. :)

I'm the same way. I normally hate chocolate but when TOM comes around I crave it. I could eat icecream all day too.
I stock my freezer with sugar free fudgsicles, & buy sugar free fat free pudding.
