Hi Everyone! I will be 30 in exactly one month and was wondering if anyone is in the same boat as I am with this...

I am tired all the time! Well, at least every afternoon. I exercise 5 times a week, faithfully (run, swim, spin class), eat right (I could do better, but it's pretty good) and get plenty of sleep, about 8 hours a night. I am married, but have no children yet. I work part time at a great, non-stressful job and go to school full time. EVERY afternoon around 1 or 2:00 I hit a wall. So tired, I can barely keep my eyes open and all I can think about is if I have time to take a nap. If I have the opportunity to take a nap, I'll take one and I can sleep for 2 hours! There is no reason I should be this tired! I drink 3 liters of water every day and take vitamins. What is wrong?

Could it be my blood sugar? I've tried to cut back on my refined sugar intake, but I really don't consume that much.

I think I need to call my doctor on this one. I take medications for high blood pressure and maybe that's it, but I've been on them for a couple of years and the tiredness just started a few months ago. Am I just getting older? 30 isn't old!!!
Help!

Thanks,
Andrea~

You definitely should contact the doctor, you could have a thyroid condition, diabetes, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome whatever...there are plenty of things that can cause you to be very tired.

Hi Andrea- and welcome to the 30's board!

I would agree with the others who have said talk to your doctor. Seems like you are a healthy living person with no real reason why the afternoon fatigue syndrome should hit you so hard. When they are able to rule out any medical problems, I would look closely at your food during the day...ask your doc about this too.

Let us know what you do, and how it goes-
