and I could definitely tell that my muscles' memory has faded dramatically since I stopped my strength-training a month ago. Bleah!
I helped my husband deliver square bales of hay...242 of the 55 pound bales. They are about 3 feet long and must be picked up & thrown either about 20 feet or above my head, depending on where the stack is. Talk about weight lifting!
I must admit that I don't mind this type of exercise: it has a purpose. Mowing the lawn is good, shoveling dirt into a wheelbarrow for the flowerbeds is good, hauling hay is good. Aerobics, stationery bikes, etc. don't just appeal to me because I am counting the clock and won't see the benefits for a week. With the others, I am knocking myself out, time flies and I can see the results immediately. The weightloss that comes a week later is a fringe benefit.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

Good for you Caryn- I agree with you, it feels great to get out and do something that you see immediate results in....I'm going to be washing my car later ;-)
Hope you're enjoying the weekend~
