I DID IT!!!

I made my goal of a healthy BMI. I weighed in this morning-in the 140s no less! For those of you that don't know I joined this board about a year ago (this week no less!) and I was in the 190s. I was just diagnosed with arthritic feet, and begining to feel my genetics creeping up on me. I needed to do something but at the time it seemed like my goal was insurmountable. I decided to take control of myself, I had let myself go after the birth of both my children, and for years before too. I learned about how to eat right, about caloric intake vs. caloric output. I learned to balance my body's caloric checkbook. I don't deny myself anything that I want, I eat in moderation, most of the time ;). I found a way to excersise and keep it up, doing stuff I love. I make the gym part of my weekly routine, and just like any appointment, I keep it. At first the weight melted off my body, but starting in the fall it slowed way down. Know what? I kept at it. In the end the pounds started comming off again, slower than before but at a steady pace. The reason why I didn't give up then was because what I was doing was keeping me healthy, heartwise and jointwise, and I didn't want to go back to where I had been. Fact is, I had been obese, now a year later, I am "normal"...and you can do it too, I just know it! I have to say thank you to all of you, because this board was a great resource for support over the last year and part of me wonders if I could've done it without you! >THANKS A MILLION<

That is absolutely fantastic news! I've missed seeing your 'moo' around recently, but am so happy to hear that you stuck with the 'program' and fought on, with a great end result!!


I agree, this board has a lot to do with many of us staying on track, but it's ultimetly YOU who has to do it for yourself. You've proved that!

Man, I needed to read your post today. That was very inspirational. I get so hung up on what the scale is telling me. I get so impatient and if I don't see 3 lbs a week I want to give up. I guess I need to put my scale away for awhile and just focus on how well I feel.And focus on shaping my body. Thanks for your post! Jode
